Course is in good shape
I thought the greens tees and fairways were all in good shape and green which is sometimes hard to find this time of year. Ball runs a lot on fairways and greens will hold for pitch shots. Good course for the value.
Secluded and Quality
Located back in the deep woods of Valley Center/Woods Valley I was surprised at the quality and difficulty. The 2 nines are "extremely" different and a very nice change. Make sure you are up on your "target golf"....this course demands accuracy. Very fun and enjoyable day. The pace of play would be my only criticism.....but then again it was Saturday morning, Still not a good reason for a 5 hr. round!!
Woods Valley is a great course with challenging holes and good conditions.
There are still a lot of choices for golf in north county. Woods Valley is my goto course. I really enjoy the layout. Many challenging holes to test your game. When I get around with one ball, I know I've had a decent round.
There are holes that will eat your lunch if you are not accurate off the tee. 6, 10 and 15 are good examples.
If you like a challenge you should enjoy Woods Valley.
Just right!
Woods Valley is a great mix of challenges. The two nines, front and back, almost play like two different courses -- the front is mostly wide and long, more like a links course, while the back is windy, hilly, and tree-filled. It's one of my favorite local courses.
Only downside: if you use the GolfNow GPS tracking, it confuses the fairways/greens on holes 9 and 18 (#9 fairway shows yardages to #18 green, and vice-versa).
Woods Valley is always a great value, the staff is outstanding, and the course is kept in great shape. Worth the drive to the "country."
Nice course, good value with Golf Now
It was my first time playing the course and I thought it was a well maintained, pleasant but challenging layout. We played late in the day, 3:10pm and for most of the round didn't have any issues with pace of play but strangely, we had to wait on several holes toward the end of our round. This shouldn't have happened as there was absolutely no one if front of the group that was holding us up. Over-all, this course is worth playing and I would play again.
Quality course
For the price, there is no better course I have played here in SD. The front 9 is completely different to the back 9 which I loved. The course was in great condition. I highly recommend taking a visit to this course. Will be back next week.
Beautiful Course
I golfed with my husband at 3:10 pm. . For $22 with a cart, it was very enjoyable. The course was not real busy at that time. There was a group in front of us and another behind. The pace of play was great. The course is well maintained. However, we didn't see any distance markers until the 't back nine. If they were there we missed them. Woods valley is a challenging course for me but we had a lot of fun!
Woods Valley
Great course condition. Staff was friendly and flexible about tee time. Anyone with the chance to play this hidden gem should get out and test their skills.
Gem of a course in Valley Center
Wonderful afternoon at Woods Valley. Pace a play was relaxing and the pro shop makes an excellent Reuben. The front nine fairways are a bit dry but the back nine was in pristine condition. Overall a fun course that should be played as often as possible
Waste of time
Showed up they had double booked tee times through their online reservation and golf now. Putting them 1 hour behind on tee times. Starter was a grouch. Total waste of a morning
Conditions
Due to recent week long rains, course was very wet and soggy. It was cart path only all day for every hole. Not in too bad of shape. Be prepared for a long round while cart path only is on force.
Always a friendly staff. Nice place to play.
Woods Valley Golf Course
Brisk weather, but not so brisk pace of play. Course conditions were good, but not great. Greens were quite wet (rain about a week ago) and marked up pretty good.
Course layout is a good challenge, always been one of my favorites. Price is fair, but not a great deal.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Slow going
Greens in tough shape. Definitely need some tlc. Group in front wouldn't let me play through
