Well kept!
Well manicured with challenging greens. Good value with this course. Not sure if ballwashers will be put back, but if it impacts cost of play, no big deal.
Nice course.
Course in very good condition, it is well maintained.
Great value for a nice course.
We really enjoyed the course. The large greens were in great shape. The staff was very friendly too.
Great lay out
The course was in good conditation for all the rain the past day. Their is a new owner and I hope he stays with Golfnow. I travel an hour so as to play this course and have always found the staff friendly.
Course has seriously deteriorated.
This used to be one of my favorite places to play. Thae fairways are HORRIBLE. NO GRASS!!! There was one one marshall. He passed us three times and never said a word. There was no water in any of the the water stations,. We saw the beverage cart as we were approaching 17 tee box. I heard that there are new owners. They need to get their act together!!!
Great value
10 am twilight on Sundays, so you can get out for $35
Its a great course at that value.
Conditions were good, fairways are dormant , but the boxes and greens are are in good shape.
The greens are tough, really fast, and there are some brutal pin positions.
Pace was a little slow, probably because of how busy it was with the rate so cheap, but nothing unreasonable.
GOOD COURSE LAYOUT, GREAT VIEWS!
HAD A GREAT TIME, FRIENDLY STAFF, CHALLENGING LAYOUT, GOOD PRICE!
Beautiful Long Course
I've played a lot of the shorter courses, and Woods Valley is a really nice change of pace. The par 5 holes are just what I need to work on my fairway game, and the hazards around the greens keep you on your toes. The course layout is great, and the staff is very helpful.
Good course, lots of character
This is my go to course. I really enjoy playing here. Can eat golf balls so if you're not hitting fairways, bring enough balls to finish your round. It's very easy to get into trouble here. Fairway are not plush but are playable. Green are usually in decent shape and takes a good eye to read them.
Have fun. Oh, water does come into play on several holes.
The course is a moderate challenging oak tree lined course.
Castle Creek is an old established course with lots of oak trees lining the wholes. The greens are in good shape compared to last year. At this time most of the bermuda grass fairways are dormant and brown. The course and clubhouse need some maintenance and renovation. The snackbar is adequate. The cost is a value.
I would recommend it to a friend
For this time of year the course was in good shape.
course is fun to play
This course has 2 different 9s. front nine is open and fairly easy back 9 is tight and has more trees.
Good course.
A course with the first nine holes playing quite easy and the last nine holes a bit tricky when playing the first time not knowing the distances.
this course has some very interesting holes
I play there often because it is a great course for the price. and when the grass is not dormant it is a very beautiful looking golf course.
Brown fairways???
First time I've ever seen brown fairways and green slopes and rough areas. Needs major work to look better.
Dead of winter...bermuda fairways dormant.
This course has many interesting holes. The back nine is very scenic and more interesting to play than the front nine. It is a good value @ $25 per player in the dead of winter even if the bermuda fairways are dormant and the greens need some attention. The carts are ready to be replaced. Ours limped in from 17 and we had to push it into the barn. Friendly staff and I'll play it again when the weather warms up and the grass comes back.
Needs work.
The condition of the course and the golf carts need attention.
The course requires use of every club in the bag.
Very good challenge. Played from the back tees. Woods Valley requires lenght off the tees and the ability to work the ball. Greens were firm and fast. I did not have my best day but enjoyed the challenge.
Overall a great value
The fairways were sparse in some areas and required that you trap the ball. The greens were in good condition and rolled true. The pace of play was quite slow due to 2 tournaments (>5 hours). Woods Valley is a very reasonable value considering that it's in the middle of nowhere and has a fun layout.
Nov/Dec great time to play.
Weather is perfect in Nov/Dec. Course in good condition especially the greens. Some parts of the fairways in "ground under repair" like condition (e.g. #6). Overall fairways are in good condition. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Good value ... really good value using internet discounts
Aviara Stay & Play Package
It’s much better now, the new owners put in serious work. It actually looks like a pga course now, beautifully striped and green
