Help me, I need a makeover.
We played here while on our vacation and was very disappointed. The course layout is boring, back and fourth poor condition, and very flat. The only good thing is you have a great view of the mountains in the backdrop on every hole, not the lake. The course was very crowed ( 8 minutes between tee times) we waited on every hole. Don't waste your hard earned money on this course and play the celebrity course on the lake.
Gorgeous views and fun course
I really enjoy playing here every summer I vacation in Tahoe. The views are amazing and the course is well-kept. Friendly staff.
The holes have nice challenges despite the lack of elevation changes. The greens are very slow comparatively but in excellent condition.
Great course, super cool starters and staff....exceft for the bar girl
Great course, super cool starter and course guide who gave us the ins and outs...... But the bartender girl just walked away from me just as I got to the bar.........? And for 5-7 minutes or more,...! Just as I got there and was ready to order, just walked away from me...? Wanted to order a couple of beers...... Three people totally walked away from a paying customer without a glance or recognition and I was right at the bar with my wallet out....? Totally ignored me.........Totally ignored me for sure.........! And I was dressed very well for golf and a new customer to this course....... She was the (the brown haired girl on 07/31/14 at about 12:25 to 12:45 pm on 07/31/14 . and with lots of attitude and no customer service........ ! Would come back to this course for sure but I might give the bar management a little advice next time. Regards
Nice course in beautiful setting
Great views of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains; course in very good condition; great round of golf
Good Value
Played 9 holes , twice, in under 2 hrs convenient to South Shore. Staff and ground crew were excellent. Played verry early and the ground crew was accommodating and worked around us nicely.
lame staff
The course was beautiful. the staff was lameour tee time was for11::24 , they did not get us off until 12:43, then they tried to blame a shotgun group.pretty pathetic, I talked to the shotgun group they said they were right on time that the golf course over booked.when I confronted the starter with the truth he got very defensive. You do the math! if the course just owned up to the mistake I would have been good with it, but now they're going to get a negative review. So when you go there make sure you ask them will I be getting off on time because evidently this happens quite a bit with them.
Screw up
Apparently a private mini tourney arrived one hour late so the moved all the subsequent tee times...loaded the course behind a tourney! Five and a half hour round. Many people left before finishing. Took away from an otherwise decent muni course experience.
Greens were smooth but rather slow. Fairways in decent shape. Sure, it's a resort area and the price is a little lower than the bigger name courses, but it's probably worth paying more and playing the other courses if you can afford it. Too bad, because the course itself is a decent, if unremarkable, layout.
Great Place....river runs through it
I have played here about seven times...always a pleasure...Now the locals tell me the Lake Tahoe planners want to re route the river and it will take away six holes until rebuilt. The upper Truckee is a clear and winding waterway that usually can carry a kayak or two. I want to run it before they try to adjust Mother Natures plan. I have seen these things fail before so I hope the planners keep that in mind.
Nice easy round
This course is like any Muni, but the view and altitude make for a great experience. Whether you play here as a warm up round for one of the pricier courses in the area, or just want to play a fun round you won't be disappointed.
good walkable tahoe course
good value with discount but not for full cost green fee
Great value
Great vistas, very nice course conditions, friendly staff and some very challenging holes.
Great setting, fun golf course
Nestled in the meadows of the High Sierras, the setting is as good as it gets. The golf course is relatively flat, but certainly interesting and not too difficult of the mid-handicapper. Still, it's not without challenge, and you do have to hit golf shots, especially on the approaches. Conditioning isn't what you find at the premium courses in the area, but neither is the price, although it's certainly not cheap if you compare it with your average public course back home. Then again, this is Lake Tahoe, so it's a good value and a recommended play if you're in the area.
Beautiful Course
Excellent views. Beautiful course. Rough can be tough and lots of trees and a few bunkers.
Fun, relatively flat course
Located in a beautiful meadow, surrounded by the Sierras, Lake Tahoe Golf Course is worth the time for 18 holes. Not overly challenging; but some greens have decent breaks to read. Greens were a bit bumpy, but overall the course was in decent condition. You can find a very good deal on GolfNow.
Great course for all levels
I play this course every time I come up to South Shore. With a 20 hdcp it is fairly straightforward to get around which makes the round more enjoyable. The views and wildlife are also a plus. There is also plenty of room for the big hitters and the challenges around the greens keep you working on your short game. In late October the course was in great condition although the greens being plugged/sanded created another challenge.
Great Tahoe golf experience...
If you have never played here you're missing out. A really great course in a stiking setting.
Great greens
This is a fun and somewhat challenging course. A little pricey, but it is in a resort area, so understandable. Best thing about the course is the condition of the greens - fast and true. Staff OK, but not overly friendly.
Wouldn't pay full price but GolfNow price was acceptable.
Need to bring your own water. None on the course.
Yardage markers only on a few sprinkler heads and hard to find
Pretty scenery, good layout.
Greens need work, good speed, but bumpy, and they don't look healthy. Golf course is pretty wet. More direction on some of the holes. In other words the scorecard needs to have more information about some of the holes. I like the course but this was the worst shape I've seen it in.
Great views, nice round of golf.
You can tell immediately how busy this course is from sun up to sun down every day the weather is decent.
First green looked a little thin in places. But overall the course was in very good shape.
I was a single paired with another vacationer and 2 local fellas who had played the course hundreds of times. They were very helpful in explaining where you wanted to go, etc.
The back 9 seemed a bit more difficult to me with holes 12, 13 and 14 providing plenty of challenges.
Oddly, the one hole that really needs to be looked at is 17. There just isn't an opening large enough to have a realistic chance to hit the green. At only 140 yards it just needs a few trees thinned out. Not that expensive or time consuming. Just Do It!
But again, I had a really nice round of golf here. You should to.
