The Chimneys Golf Course

BECAUSE OF WORK SCHEDULE, CAN ONLY PLAY ON SUNDAYS. PLAYED WITH SON. COURSE WAS WET BECAUSE OF HEAVY RAIN THE NIGHT BEFORE, SO HAD TO STAY ON CART PATH. STILL HAD A GREAT TIME AND MOVED QUICKLY FOR 18. LOVE THE LAYOUT.

Slowest I’ve played in a while. Why? I play in same kind of green s but never that slow

Try to play Chimneys several times per year. Based on the condition of other courses in the area I will probably play more often. The course is in excellent shape all the way around compared to others in the area with weedy or bare greens, sandless bunkers, grassless fairways etc. The value for the money is the best. Oh and the lady who cooks in the cafe makes great food!

I've never seen the course look better! Everything was a lush, bright green and the course offered tremendous views...especially from the #1, #2, #10 and #16 tee boxes. The staff has done a tremendous job with the course and are always extremely friendly. Cheap beer and burgers/hot dogs can be found in the clubhouse. The Chimneys GC is in excellent shape!

I wish this course was closer to my house. greens were unusually slow. I think they could be cut a little bit more and that would make them more interesting. Other than that beautiful course lots to eat and reasonable range balls.

Course was great. Greens were advertised as recently aerated but wasn’t a problem. Love the layout and for the money a great deal and golfing experience. Looking forward to playing it again.

Everything was very good the corse was in great shape can’t wait to see it when everything turns green the greens had sand on them due to Maintenace . The pace of play was great until we made the turn on the back 9 it had a foursome that held the course up they were so slow another foursome caught up with at the tee box other than it was a great course We all said we would be back

I’ve been playing on this course for the last few weeks and was aware that the greens were recently aerated. The aeration was not affecting things much, so we decided to play again this past weekend. When we started playing, we noticed that the greens were heavily sanded and it made it impossible to putt. I was disappointed that we were not made aware of the sanding prior to playing. I’ll still come back to the course, but will be more careful when playing after the greens have been aerated.

Nice course some great elevation . Great value had a very enjoyable day.

Played The Chimneys out in Winder yesterday and it was well worth the trip from the north metro area. Greens were in great shape after having been aerated only 3 weeks ago. Fairways are greening up really quick. Great mixture of challenging holes where club selection is key, while others you can attack a little easier for an under par score. Loved the rock formations lining the fairways and greens in some spots. I will be back very soon!

I've said this before and I'll say it again great course to play and very playable for all skill levels. Just a fun place to play!!!

I always enjoy Chimneys! The course has an excellent layout and is always kept in top condition. The staff is consistently friendly and accommodating!

Greens had big punch holes in them with no notice or discount, doesn’t seem right to me. Now I will be very hesitant to play here again.

The greens and fairways were aerated but no notification was given when booking. This is my only complaint. Staff were nice and Helga is awesome! Great food! Course plays a little short so back up a tee box. Nice big greens, and great rock features. I want to go play again!

For a course that's tucked away between Atlanta and Athens I found it to be a great treat and value for the money. It's not a long course but will reward accurate tee shots and spot on approach shots. Considering the year of golf is young the greens are huge and roll true. Like most courses this time of year the fairways haven't grown their green cover but in a month or so this course will be awesome to play

This course has been one of my favorites from day one. Always friendly staff and the course is on of the most friendly/challenging for the money. One of the few "budget" courses that has fairway bunkers and challenging hole placements. I cannot say enough good things for this course. Only thing is last time I played they must have recently airated the fairways on multiple holes but didn't throw my experience one bit. Absolutly love this course. Will continue to play here.

First time here. Played as a foursome teeing off midday. For winter conditions the course was in excellent shape. The layout was excellent without a lot of heavy overgrown rough. Greens were in good shape for this time of year also. The staff was accommodating and friendly from check in to cart return. I was most impressed with the fact the City runs the course which is normally bad news. Not here though! I will come back again and I’m looking forward to summer play on this course.
