The Chimneys Golf Course

One of my & buddies favorite courses, always in good to great shape from tee boxes to greens. People in clubhouse cordial & I've heard lady at snack bar can make some good homemade sandwiches, etc (I've not personally tried). Only suggestion is consider "Member Tees", mix up white & green for a better challenge for anyone in between playing white & green tees. Ex: #'s 5, 6 & 12 from white tees & certainly # 12 if playing from green tees. This par 4 hole is difficult to get on in two. almost a 3 shot hole & one putt.

This is a great value course that is in well above average condition. I play it at least every other month and am always pleased.

Fourth time playing at this course on a weekend. The weather was perfect. The fairways were good. All good except the greens and pace of play. The greens were very slow. They looked need one more cut. The practice green was fair. But not the regular greens.

And there were too many two somes. We had to let several two-somes passed us. Even a single player. Took longer than usual to finish the round. This is not the first time I experienced this. Last played it was like this. No control of pace. I don’t think I will go back to this place.

This course is short but has some has some long holes to offset the drivable par 4s. The rough was deep and the fairways and greens were soft. The greens are a little slow but roll true. The staff was nice.

I have been playing here for several years now and it's always been one of my favorite courses to play. The upkeep has definitely improved over the years. Needless to say I will enjoy many more years of play here. It has only helped improve my game.

This is one of my favorite courses. I like that there are no homes around the course. Just really nice scenery.

Worth the ride. Greens were unpredictable, fairways logos enough for a picnic. Pace was a little disappointing, should have packed that picnic. The turn at the clubhouse you have to walk right past the bathroom to get your food...nasty when you get a whiff of some bad feelings on your way to a hotdog lunch. No beverage cart??? Overall a Great course !

Green way to slow. The greens was not rolled or cutt. This course will screw your putting up. You have to hit the putt.

Played this course four years ago a lot. The city of Winder has About the course since then. Course is in great shape but the Greens are really way too long.

Picturesque layout and the course is in beautiful condition. Fairways were perfect and greens held good. Greens were a little slow on this day. Hope to play this course often.

Very nice course. Challenging enough. No water hazards. Nice value!!

This is a great place to play a round. The fair ways and greens are in great shape. They continue to improve the course and maintain it. They offer food and drink. Great hamburgers at the turn. Make sure you tip the lady.

This is my second time playing this course. It was in great shape! The greens were soft and rolled true consistently. I saw repair marks on them which tells me other players that play here respect the conditions as well. The fairways were very cushy like walking on thick carpet at home....but the down side of that was you didn't get much roll..lol. I plan on playing here again soon.

It had been several years since I was out at Chimneys.

Conditions...tees, fairways, bunkers, and greens are all in good shape. Pace was a tad over 4 hrs for our 3some but it moved smoothly.

The fairways are lush, and the rough even more so! The greens are receptive, not super fast imo they are great to putt because you can get the ball to the hole and not be too concerned about a 3-4' come backer.

Layout has a great mix of holes. You have some scoring chances on a couple of driveable par 4 holes, several others you could have a 9i or wedge approach. There are also some holes where bogey is not a bad score. I'd like to see the rough cut back a bit, it can be hard to find balls in it, but clearly they intend for the rough to add to the difficulty.

Typical with north GA, you have some elevation change, #10 is probably the steepest drop from tee to green, but some play uphill as well...good variety.

No homes on the course, just pure golf. Golf on a Sat. morning for under $50 is a value, on a course in this kind of shape, it's a great value.

I've playing chimneys many times over the years. Current course conditions are the best I've seen. Several inches of rain in the last couple weeks has the fairways and greens are in excellent shape.
