The Chimneys Golf Course
About
The Chimneys Golf Course features 18 holes of exceptional golf. Our signature feature is the abundance of native rock found on-site, intricately hand-laid throughout the course to accent our greens, fairways, and pedestal tees. With strict attention to detail and no homes in sight, the course plays as a par 72, just shy of 6500 yards over five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Combined with southern, hometown charm, The Chimneys is an experience unlike any public course in north Georgia.

Fun course
Always a good course to play . Very fair for the average golfer with several "challenging" holes to add to your score. I'm 68 and a so-so player but find the white tees offer a fair test, even though I'm not a long driver of the ball. The staff has done an excellent job over the years to keep improving it.
fair course
no water coolers and only 2 water fountains with one not working!
Return visit
The weather conditions were overcast and 40 degrees when we started which encouraged a fast pace of play. The course was in good condition overall and the greens were smooth and putted at a medium speed. We did not get held up by another group and were able to complete our round in 3 hours.
Nice, Affordable Course
I've played this course a handful of times. The course is usually in good condition; other golfers are usually friendly; and the rounds are enjoyable. The round I played on 11/20/16 wasn't any different - except for the cool/breezy weather. The greens on 11/20 were very fast and in decent shape. I would, however, say that this course is below average in terms of green care by other players - tons of ball marks on the otherwise excellent greens (a shame). If you are going to travel to the course, I would call ahead to ask about green conditions, as I've seen wide-ranging condtions over the past few years.

No complaints other than backed up a little. Marshall on course would help. Tee boxes to greens in good shape. One of my favorites to play, always in good to great shape. Got a good price on their website playing @ 12:30. Also like their water fountain option.
Big fan of this course
I play this course as often as I can. It's fairly short which is great for me and the average duffer. Despite a complete lack of rain lately the course and the greens are in great shape. There wasn't any food at the snack bar (other than chips, candy and bottle soda/water) but that's been the case at the last few places I've played.
Anyway I highly recommend this course . It's beautiful. The staff is friendly and it is more than worth the money.
Nice surprise
I had a little extra time today and found this course and I am glad I did. This a FUN track that measures 6,500 from the tips. It has a few drivable par 4s to help lower your score.
It is a visually pleasing golf course and it was in fantastic shape today.
Way out in the boonies but a great course worth a play
Course was in great shape. There were 2 holes that were a bit unfair off the tee for the average golfer but otherwise a neat layout that i enjoyed thoroughly.
Great Conditions, Carpet Greens
Chimneys is a great layout with lots of elevation changes and beautiful rock mounding. The tee boxes, fairways, rough, and bunkers are all in great shape (Especially during such a brutal summer). However, the greens were very slow. They were very thick and difficult to putt on unless you hit your ball with a sledge hammer. Playing in the morning they're a little better because of just being cut, but during twilight hours they're similar to shag carpet. Overall, Chimneys is a great, fun course to play, and I'm sure its perfect during cooler temperatures in the fall.
Beautiful course
Beautiful landscaping, plush fairways and well manicured greens with tough challenging holes. Great course! Must play!!
Poor practice facilities
Course is in really good shape. Although the bent grass greens are very slow, they are also extremely receptive to approach shots. Main complaint is there is no chipping or bunker area. They will not even let you hit little bump and and runs on the practice putting green. I also went for a round there and the driving range was closed because they were cutting the grass. I was not notified of this before my round and was not even allowed to hit little pitches to warm up. So no range time and no chipping made me go onto the first tee cold. I wish I could continue playing golf there because the course really is beautiful. However, I need to practice my short game before I play so I will not be going back unless they change the no chipping rule.
Great play!
Only negative , they let a 5some out that wouldn't let us play through. Not the Chimneys fault just bad etiquette
Nice course
Course is in good shape. The greens are thick and slow due to the drought but that's common. The rough is extremely thick. The fairways are perfect and make for an overall good course that's challenging.
Loved it
For a hot dry August the fairways, rough, and greens were beautiful! Stay out of the bunkers ( hard pan) or swing out of your shoes to get out. Will definitely be back regularly.
Pretty course
Overall it is a very nice course with sceninc holes.
The greens were lush but a little slow because they were over watered to keep them healthy for the august heat. The layout is very nice, but I would prefer more medium length holes. The par 4's were either long or really short.
beautiful course
It's a course that anybody can play, and have a great day. Fair ways were in perfect shape, greens were every nice. People who were working could not be more pleasant to deal with.
Excellent course and great value from Golf now.
The course was excellent shape, but only to many balls mark on green needed to be repair.
Beautiful course
Course condition is excellent. A couple of holes are a little bit short, though.
Awesome course and in GREAT condition, greens excluded
This was my first time playing the course. It was awesome to play. I can't believe such a great course exists out in the middle of not too much.
- The pro staff was excellent, friendly and very accommodating.
- The stone work around the course was beautiful, especially on the front nine
- The bunkers had plenty of sand and were very well kept and raked
The only drawback was the greens. The greens were very shagy and hence quite slow. I could not believe all the ball marks in the greens. There were huge ball marks that were left unrepaired. It seemed as no one who has played this course in the past two weeks ever even thought of repairing a ball mark on the greens.
If the greens were in better condition, this course would be on of my favorites. Even with the slow, shaggy greens with lots of ball marks, this course is WELL worth the drive to play.
I was a member for two years. That was the biggest issue, people not repairing ball marks or improperly repairing by popping them up. I would fix at least 5 ball marks a hole when I played. Otherwise the course was great!
Château Élan Stay & Play Golf Package
I see water coolers have been disappearing to preference of bottled water in recent years. Seems more sanitary to use another source as well.
