About
Located in Gainesville, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is one of the area's most popular public courses. The 27-hole layout is divided intro three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, the Village, the School, and the Mill, share a beautiful rolling landscape provided by the surrounding foothills of the Appalachians. The School nine is the second longest of the three. Water comes into play on four holes, more than on any of the other nines. The course finishes with a memorable water hole. The par-5 ninth hole has two ponds that wrap around the green. Besides the water, you'll also have strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There are many challenging holes at Chicopee Woods G.C., but none of the courses are overly punishing for high handicappers.

Twilight at Chicopee
Played a late twilight 9 on School. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Good pace of play. Like the new covered seating area at the practice range.
Slow Play
I have one complaint . I was a single and was paired up with to other guys and we were to follow a 4some of women. They would not let us play through and we backed up 2 groups deep behind them. Ranger did not have them increase the pace of play or let faster groups play through. This made for a long round of golf.
Challenging course
Great practice facility to get warmed up. Course was in great shape. Greens rolled smooth. They spaced tee times out so there no waiting

This course is close to home. But this round was a surprise, the greens were terrible, they had lot of bear spots and they had been sanded, no discount on price to play though. You would think the course would have been in great condition this time of year. I was disappointed. I would definitely recommend this course to friends, but they need to make some improvements.
Fun & Challenging
First time here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Great practice facility. The course has a lot of interesting & challenging holes, which I like because it make you try some different shots. Greens were some of the best I've seen in a while and they roll true. Course conditions very well maintained. I will play again.
Gem
Great public course, course conditions better than most private. Friendly staff, rangers actually do their job.
Chicopee
Course is in great shape and pace of play was really good only had to wait a couple of times.

Course was it excellent condition, green were every good, they were making improvements to some of the bunkers, as wells as replacing some grass in some areas. Really enjoyed my round. Will definitely be playing again. One of best places I have played this season.
