Chicopee Woods Golf Course - School Nine
About
Located in Gainesville, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is one of the area's most popular public courses. The 27-hole layout is divided intro three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, the Village, the School, and the Mill, share a beautiful rolling landscape provided by the surrounding foothills of the Appalachians. The School nine is the second longest of the three. Water comes into play on four holes, more than on any of the other nines. The course finishes with a memorable water hole. The par-5 ninth hole has two ponds that wrap around the green. Besides the water, you'll also have strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There are many challenging holes at Chicopee Woods G.C., but none of the courses are overly punishing for high handicappers.

Tee rimes
As many golf courses do, booking tee times to close together along with improper staffing make for a long day on the course.
Most would prefer to pay more if tee times were staggered further apart.
Building Facility Usage
The building closes its doors too early, making it extremely inconvenient to use the restroom.
Great course
I love playing Chicopee. Such a great course with a great layout. The three nine hole courses make your experience unique every time. The course is in great shape, especially the greens. I played by myself and there was no one in front so I finished an hour ahead of pace. Such a great value for such a nice course.
Great Course
Great course in great condition and a solid value. Greens were in amazing shape for December. Staff was friendly and the amenities were very nice.
Will definitely be back. Honestly this may be my new “go to” local course.
Worst pace of play ever
Worts pace of play ever. We started our round at 2pm and only got 11 holes in because of a group of 4 playing from the tips and could only drive the ball maybe 210 yards at best! Then would not let anyone play through.
Great course layout
This has become my go to place this summer. Great greens and fairways.
Another one off the list
I have wanted to play here for a long time after hearing about it from so many people I have played with.
The clubhouse is really nice as is the starter area. I didn’t visit the range but the putting green was similar to what I saw on course. With 3 nine’s, the layout is a little confusing for a first timer but I was paired with a regular. We played school and mill which I enjoyed. I don’t typically like courses with a lot of elevation changes but the conditions and way the design made you think made it a good challenge. Pace of play was the only real issue as the round took almost 5 hours. I think the course is probably too difficult for most patrons. I will be back but not for a while.
