About
Located in Gainesville, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is one of the area's most popular public courses. The 27-hole layout is divided intro three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, the Village, the School, and the Mill, share a beautiful rolling landscape provided by the surrounding foothills of the Appalachians. The School nine is the second longest of the three. Water comes into play on four holes, more than on any of the other nines. The course finishes with a memorable water hole. The par-5 ninth hole has two ponds that wrap around the green. Besides the water, you'll also have strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There are many challenging holes at Chicopee Woods G.C., but none of the courses are overly punishing for high handicappers.

Awesome day!
It doesn’t matter whether you go during the week or on the weekend the rate of play he’s always had a good speed you don’t have to hurry you don’t have to push and it’s just at a great rate and the Rangers keep it that way. They always let you know at least a week or two in advance if they’re going to aerate the greens so that everybody is aware. On the weekends they always have a barbecue where you can get a decent lunch and something cold to drink. All the carts have coolers on them and ball and club washers which is very convenient. The driving range is always kept nice. Every time I play the club it’s the same way they take care of it better than some private clubs just always a good experience recommended Haley.

Decent course - Fast/good players beware!
Always enjoyed playing this course, best bang for your buck in the area. Good layout, slow but true greens and good practice area…but with 3 nine hole courses, they’ve learned to stack tee times to the point where if you turn in 2 hrs or less you’ll be stuck behind a group just teeing off, or MADE TO WAIT until they call the next group so they make their scheduled tee time. I was actually held up for 30 min at 7:25 am, even though I was the first to tee off on a particular 9, and told to not play under 2 hrs bc I would interfere with new groups on my 2nd nine. INSANE. Don’t expect to play here in under 5 hrs, even if you’re the first group to go off. They punish players for fast play to stack tee sheets and make money. Bad culture for today’s golf unless the goal is to push good players away until you’re only left with hacks that don’t fix ball marks or divots (if they even make them HA) ***Suggestion: charge 10-15$ more per tee time and reduce the tee sheet by 8-10 groups and you’ll make more with somewhat happier players. And the grill employees don’t show up until 9:30. They should be there at 6:30 with pre-made biscuits and coffee ready before your tee time, like other good courses have learned…Won’t be playing here again which is an avoidable loss. Shame on the new CW management

First time ever playing here. Played on a Sunday. I will go ahead and say from start to finish, the course was in excellent condition. One thing I would definitely improve is the pace of play however. There were groups we waited on ahead of us all day and others behind us where we were forced to wait for 5-10 minutes at times on the tee box due to it being backed up. Overall, this is a great course, great layout and very forgiving. Look forward to playing again

Chicopee Woods - Best Public Course in Georgia
This is a great course with an added benefit of having 27 holes to challenge you. They continue to invest in upgrading the facility which is appreciated by those who play there. The greens are in great shape, the course is challenging and it's great having the food tent available to pick up food after the front 9 is finished. The staff is well trained, friendly and very helpful. This is my favorite course in North Georgia. Kudos to Lenny, Al, Keith, Ryan, Garrett, Alan and the rest of the staff for the exceptional customer service!

Greens are recovering from aeration, which is noted when you book a time, but they're coming along well. Helpful assist from the young man in the pro shop, who was very flexible on rates for a junior golfer. Always a pleasure to play at CW!

Disappointed
The greens were way to high and very bumpy. The fairways had grass catching piled high left on the course.

Good course
Greens has not recovered from begin punched, so greens while healthy, not what I would call putt-able. More like hit and pray. Fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Would still play the course as is - great facility; a nice course.
