About
Located in Gainesville, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is one of the area's most popular public courses. The 27-hole layout is divided intro three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, the Village, the School, and the Mill, share a beautiful rolling landscape provided by the surrounding foothills of the Appalachians. The School nine is the second longest of the three. Water comes into play on four holes, more than on any of the other nines. The course finishes with a memorable water hole. The par-5 ninth hole has two ponds that wrap around the green. Besides the water, you'll also have strategically placed bunkers to contend with. There are many challenging holes at Chicopee Woods G.C., but none of the courses are overly punishing for high handicappers.

This place has no idea how to stagger tee times. Every hole had three groups (green, fairway and tee box) Some holes even had two groups on tee boxes waiting to tee off. When we addressed the back up with the Starter he just shrugged us off.

The course is very good. They pack way too many groups on the course...not sure what their tee time interval is, but there were 3 groups per hole...green, fairway, tee-box...slow day!

Great course - layout and conditions
Played School and Village courses. Really enjoyed the courses, in great condition for late November and greens rolled true. Wish I had come earlier to practice at their range. Definitely recommend playing here.

Hidden Gem
Chiccopee Woods is a really nice course kind of in the middle of nowhere, but only 50 mins from Atlanta. Love that it has 27 holes. The staff has never been anything but professional and kind. I would recommend this course to anyone, beginner to low index.

Course was in good shape, leaves were cleared. Came to the starting house 3 minutes late, and was ridiculed by the starter about showing up on time. When we got to the first tee box there was a foursome in front of us still teeing off, and we were stuck behind them all day at a very slow pace, so the fact that I was three minutes late didn’t matter and nothing was said to the team in front of us about picking up pace.

Hilly but in great shape
You will be tired from the hills, even in a cart, but all 3 nines are in great shape, including the greens.
