About
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a 27-hole course that sprawls across rolling terrain. It is one of the most popular public courses in the Gainesville area. The holes are divided into three nines called the Village, the School, and the Mill. They share the same scenic landscape but they each offer a different set of challenges. Five sets of tees provide the option of playing to your skill level. The Mill is the shortest of the three nines. Strategically placed bunkers come into play on almost every hole, you'll find plenty of them on the par-4 seventh. There are back-to-back water features starting with the second hole, the golf course's only water holes. Chicopee Woods GC also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens available.

Nice course and well maintained
Chicopee is very beautiful course to play and very well maintained. It is not easy but I love challenges. Ebryome should have chance to play out here.

Overall one of the best public courses in the area for the money! We got paired with to nice guys and had fun. The course in great condition right now and we played at a great pace. We will be back again!

5 hour plus round
5 to 51/2 hour round so a group of member can play a money ball is unacceptable. I love Chicopee but this was the first time I had to leave early and the ranger says this happens every Sunday with this group.

Forgiving course for a beginner
The facilities are fantastic and updated. Fairways are wide from the T box and not designed to eat balls.

Wrong Day to Play
Always enjoy Chicopee Woods save for this Monday with an 11:55 tee time. Range closed and must have been a general all course maintenance day as every hole on our 1st 10 holes were played with the sound of the blowers (sometime two machine blowers) blowing recently mowed grass all over the course and at times, right at you around the greens. Great Overall Experience
This is one of the best golf courses left in this area. It's a public course with a private feel because the staff is excellent and the course is beautifully maintained. The 27 holes offer great variety and helps with the pace on busy days. The practice facilities are superb with a large range and two practice chipping greens, one of which offers bunker practice. A large putting green behind the starter shack rounds out the prep offerings.

Hot day
Great layout, good conditions. Had late tee time, way too hot for me. Definitely detracted from experience. Nice track, well manicured. Kudos to GC Supt and staff.

Sanded greens without any notification.
I am senior playing with my daughter. 8:46 tee time on 8/7/24. There was no warning of sanding when making the online reservation.or when checking in pro shop. We played the Village and making the turn to School I found the greens were just sanded like a beach! Didn't want to finish the round and asked for a refund which was denied but rain check was issued. I asked why we were not notified at checkin and the reply was that he did not know either. The village was very damp and the greens were slow. On a drier and less hot day I would rate about 4 stars. On service and communication I rate 0 stars.
