About
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a 27-hole course that sprawls across rolling terrain. It is one of the most popular public courses in the Gainesville area. The holes are divided into three nines called the Village, the School, and the Mill. They share the same scenic landscape but they each offer a different set of challenges. Five sets of tees provide the option of playing to your skill level. The Mill is the shortest of the three nines. Strategically placed bunkers come into play on almost every hole, you'll find plenty of them on the par-4 seventh. There are back-to-back water features starting with the second hole, the golf course's only water holes. Chicopee Woods GC also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens available.

Sprinklers were running
I've played this course several times. It is usually one of my favorites. It is well maintained and the holes are well laid out. The only downside is that the pace of play is often slow (greater than 5 hours).
However, the most recent time I played they had the sprinklers running. We had to dodge sprinklers over the last five holes. The fairways were soggy and the balls got wet and muddy. It was quite a disappointment in what was otherwise a good day of golf.
Furthermore, although the weather was sweltering, there was no refreshment cart running that day. That was very unusual for this course.
Greens recently aerated but no warning from Golf Now. Normally rate this course 4 stars.

I like this course and the layout problem was the greens were punched and sandy otherwise course is in good shape. Young guy being the starter not the most helpful or friendly need to get someone older who actually cares to talk to the golfers.

My favorite course within driving distance
Year round, this course is always impeccably maintained. Hats off to the Superintendent!
The course is not easy, but fair if u keep it in the short grass.
Little improvements noticed (New cart paths, gps on carts, etc)
It’s hard to get on early on the weekend if you’re not with a member.
If the weather is good for you, then play this course!

Beautiful course: smooth new asphalt cart paths to manicured fairways, greens, & tee boxes. Range finder screens in carts…. awesome course.

Good course in the Gainesville area!
The course is busy but play can be done in 4 1/2 hours. There are 3 9 hole courses and they alternate frequently so you get to play a different course and sequence every weekend. The course is in pretty good shape. The cart girls frequent roughly once every 9 holes. Fees are reasonable. Book a round and enjoy yourself!
Great value for a solid course
Me and some buddies played Chicopee Woods for the first and it was exceptional. My only complaint is that we couldn’t play another 9 after we finished our first 18!
Cart girls was a little limited and it was a scorcher but that’s it. Greens rolled fast and true, fairways were wide with consistent quality grass, tee boxes were fantastic. All around a very nice experience and an amazing value.
Restaurant
I wish the restaurant be renovated and have more choices on menu and close later time. They close too early.
Other than that, the course is fabulous!!
