About
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a 27-hole course that sprawls across rolling terrain. It is one of the most popular public courses in the Gainesville area. The holes are divided into three nines called the Village, the School, and the Mill. They share the same scenic landscape but they each offer a different set of challenges. Five sets of tees provide the option of playing to your skill level. The Mill is the shortest of the three nines. Strategically placed bunkers come into play on almost every hole, you'll find plenty of them on the par-4 seventh. There are back-to-back water features starting with the second hole, the golf course's only water holes. Chicopee Woods GC also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens available.

Chicopee
It is a great course. Some tough holes; and some easy ones. A good combination of both on each 9. However if you are a beginner (like my wife) I do not recommend this course.

Wow! Exactly what a day at the course should be
Tried this layout on a whim on a Friday. Friendly, accommodating and I got paired up with 3 great people. Would join this place in a heartbeat. Layout fair but challenging, no trick holes or blind shots, amazing golf!

great course TERRIBLE pace of Play
The course was in good shape and the staff is nice. The pace of play was terrible. There are (3) 9's at Chicopee. Each 9 had at least 1 or 2 groups waiting to tee off. We could not tee off at our tee time due to it being stacked up and were not able to finish our round.

Decent course
Nice course, but needs touched up around the edges. Staff could be more professional.
Greens have a textured feel and the ball doesn’t roll smooth.

Great course
This is probably the nicest public course in the area. Better than Chateau Elan. Better than Reunion. Their grounds crew deserves an award!!

Always worth the drive
Noticable improvements with cart paths. Faiways and tee boxes were full and smooth. Greens a little bumpy, likely due to recent punching.

Would have liked to have known the greens were recently aerated.
greens were messed up because of aeration. didn't know that. should have asked.

Cart Path Only in Dry Conditions
Beautiful course! Greens were just aerated which is always a disappointment but understandable. The part that I don’t understand was the cart path only in very dry conditions and uncut fairways. We did get a big storm on Thursday but by Sunday the fairway was very dry and hard and it was still cart path only. We weren’t told this before we teed off but found out when our carts wouldn’t allow us on the fairway. Me for one and I know many others would rather not play with Cart path only. I would have rather walked and brought my pull cart.

Recently aerated just fyi
Greens were recovering but they recently aerated and nothing was noted when booking tee time. Still a little bumpy. Pace of play was miserable. 4 groups on one hole (9 on school) and marshal just drove on by doing nothing.
