Chicopee Woods Golf Course - Mill Nine

Greens were recovering but they recently aerated and nothing was noted when booking tee time. Still a little bumpy. Pace of play was miserable. 4 groups on one hole (9 on school) and marshal just drove on by doing nothing.

Really nice course for the price. Great range set up. Clubhouse would be sweet with a little interior face lift. Pace of play was horrific. Really needs to be enforced. We aren’t pros out here. If you lose a ball or miss hit one you shouldnt spend 10 minutes looking or re-teeing. You still

Great course that is always in good shape. There are lots of blind shots, but the new GPS shows you where the carts in front of you are located on the hole which protects everyone! Great idea.

Greens were aerated in July, so they are still a little sandy & slow compared to normal. I imagine they will be back to normal by mid August. Still playable, but not perfect.

The recent rain helped to make the course lush. And I like the newly paved cart paths.

Thank goodness the cart has GPS even though we were CPO the day we played. Checkin was fine not much explanation of how to check in but we got paired with a single that golf here so he showed us the process.

The course is crazy hilly. We play normally at Crystal falls which is hilly but nothing like this. Don't even think about walking this course unless your half Billy goat. The views are pretty but the golf? It's blind shots for most tee shots, blind shots to elevated greens. Blind shots around sharp dog legs, blind 2nd and 3 rd shots on par 5 holes. There are so many blind shots it feels like a Xmas gift when you get any shot you can actually see where you're hitting to. Not for us but maybe this is something you like...

On Thursday 7/20/23 my buddy called the course and booked a 1pm tee time for Sunday 7/23/23. He was quoted $50 because they had aerated the greens a couple weeks ago. Normally they charge $70 for the weekend. So when we checked in the guy behind the counter said it would be $70 because the greens had came back in and that the $50 deal ended on Friday 7/21/23. 🤔. We wouldn’t have been upset but greens were not back like he said. They were not worth $70. I enjoy Chicopee and I wouldn’t tell anyone not to play here but anytime they aerate make sure to get a name when you book. I guess on Thursday they didn’t know they were ending the deal on Friday.

Otherwise, everything else was good, even the pace of play, which is often glacial at Chicopee.

This is my favorite course to play. It’s very well maintained and excellent value. The staff are always friendly, the carts are new with gps in them so you know your distance to greens, hazards as well as other player’s carts. Best course around.

Would have liked to have known greens were just aerated as would’ve avoided going. Normally love this course.

I love playing this course, but there was no warning about the greens being aerated!

Course is always in pretty good condition. For the amount of play it receives it is in very good condition. The changes being applied to the course will result in an even better playing experience. Kudos to the groundskeepers and the work they put in to maintain the course.

Something about this course is very comfortable. If I was a young boy, I feel good memories would be made playing here over and over....just has a nice comfortable feel to it.

It's somewhat challenging, has some water, greens are good conditions, and winds through the mountains just like I love.

Played Chicopee’s School and then Village. Loved Schools layout and forgiving fairways but still enjoyed the challenge of a few very hard holes. Village was also a nice 9 holes. Tighter fairways that placed an emphasis on tee shots. Combined the two 9’s played roughly 7000-7100 yards from the tips which is welcomed for an advanced golfer. In my opinion, Chicopee is one of the most underrated hidden gems in all of Georgia. Beautiful practice facility, beautiful course and friendly staff. Would rate Chicopee a 9.2/10.

Everything was GREAT, except the 100 degree temp, but nothing you guys could do about it! :) But, You did have PLENTY of water all thru the course, and very friendly cart ladies, who checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything, which was awesome! I can't wait to play my next round there!

Will be removing this course from my summer rotation until they do something about the pace of play. Great course and value, but waiting 10-15 mins every hole in 90 degree heat is miserable.
