About
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a 27-hole course that sprawls across rolling terrain. It is one of the most popular public courses in the Gainesville area. The holes are divided into three nines called the Village, the School, and the Mill. They share the same scenic landscape but they each offer a different set of challenges. Five sets of tees provide the option of playing to your skill level. The Mill is the shortest of the three nines. Strategically placed bunkers come into play on almost every hole, you'll find plenty of them on the par-4 seventh. There are back-to-back water features starting with the second hole, the golf course's only water holes. Chicopee Woods GC also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens available.

Unnecessary Additions
I have always really liked this course. Always thought it was well maintained, well managed and value oriented. I’m not sure now. As I understand it, this is a county owned course and all profits are to be put back into the course. Keep in mind the tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in really good shape. So, congrats on that. However, prices keep increasing and they are spending a boatload of money all of which doesn’t seem necessary. In the recent year they made some really nice improvements to the cart path surface. Great. Needed. Appreciated. They spent a lot on landscaping. Mainly plants and bushes. Way too many. ,Now they’re adding wider pavement to cart paths at tee boxes and greens. I’m sure it will be nice once completed. However, simply not a wise spend of money. Not logical at all. And it’s a mess. Sand bunkers look very nice. However, if you step into most, they’re hard in a great deal of the bunker surface. Spend the money from wider tee box and greens cart path widening on the bunkers. Or, here’s a novel thought. Since the regular cart paths, tee boxes, fairways and greens all look really well and the course plays well…. Reduce the price to play. Basically, my opinion is they’ve taken a really nice course and gone overboard on spending on pavement and landscaping. which will cost everyone more as time passes. This is not Augusta National. . I’ll continue to play it unless the price to play increases due to perceived and additional unnecessary spend. As said above, tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in really good shape. However, someone’s out of control with the checkbook.

#6 school was under repair, so played much much shorter. Only piece of constructive criticism..actual holes on greens were terrible..Haven't been changed for what 3 days and showed tremendous wear..Other than that, job well done team..see ya again

A Gem in NE GA
You can’t beat having 27 holes, a first rate practice facility, and super friendly staff. We have had a lot of rain this spring so there are quite a few more bare spots on the tees and fairways this year Vs last year. The grounds crew is working diligently to get the place in shape. I look forward to more great rounds.

Always a good place to play.
Course in good shape, some work going on, but did not interfere with the round. Greens a bit firm, but I like them firm. Tee boxes in great shape. Fairways in good shape with a few rough spots, but nothing that interfered with play. I believe this course is priced fairly. Thumbs up to the staff; this place puts a great many golfers though every single day. Considering the volume and course condition, the staff should be very proud of their hard work. Always a good place to play.

Very nice track and an excellent value.
Zero complaints about this course. Tees, fairways and greens were all in good shape. It is a fun and fair layout, and a very good value for the money.
I will definitely play this one again the next time I am in the area.
An interesting feature here is brand new cart paths with white lines along both edges of the paths. The lines provide a really nice visual. I have not seen this at any other courses.

Course is coming out winter nicely, pace of play was not great…5 hrs+, and some construction occurring on the School 9, overall still a great place to play, solid value

Nice track
Enjoyed the layout and course condition was good for early in the year. Construction on one hole of School was disappointing but generally a very good experience.
Excellent breakfast sandwich in the snack bar and drink cart girl was awesome.
