About
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a 27-hole course that sprawls across rolling terrain. It is one of the most popular public courses in the Gainesville area. The holes are divided into three nines called the Village, the School, and the Mill. They share the same scenic landscape but they each offer a different set of challenges. Five sets of tees provide the option of playing to your skill level. The Mill is the shortest of the three nines. Strategically placed bunkers come into play on almost every hole, you'll find plenty of them on the par-4 seventh. There are back-to-back water features starting with the second hole, the golf course's only water holes. Chicopee Woods GC also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens available.

Nice course if you have 5 hours to kill
RANGER nowhere in sight. The course was in really good condition and the greens were great, but it was ruined by the 5 hour pace. We waited on every single hole. We played another course the week before and played in 3:30. This round was a full 90 minutes longer. Horrible experience, especially in 90+ degree heat.

First time playing course, in great shape, very friendly staff, great practice facility, highly recommend this course.

Excellent condition
Played twice in one week I enjoyed it so much. Everything is in such great shape. Will make it one of my regular courses now.

The course is in fantastic shape!
It was nice to play here again with the course lush and green. The rough was up and made it more challenging coming from courses where that has not been the case. The greens were smooth and rolled true. The Started calls your group ahead of time so that things can start on schedule. My one complaint would be with the Rangers/Marshalls. While friendly, they don't seem to do anything to keep the pace of play moving. They just smile, wave, and drive by... yet on one Par 3, there was a group heading toward the green with two groups on the tee box. We waited on every shot all day. That's just unacceptable!

Pace of play is becoming an issue
I adore this course. All three nines are challenging and the greens and ibunkers are in really good shape. But the pace of play has gotten out of control. The last three times I have played went as follows: 1. 6 hour round, 2. 5 hour round through 15, and I had to leave because I had to make it to a prior engagement that was 6 hours from tee time, 3. and the last time I played we made it through 9 but the turn was so backed up that the starter told us it could be an hour. I did get a refund but I really wanted play 18.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course.
