Anderson Creek Golf Club
About
When Anderson Creek Golf Club first opened in 2001 it was immediately recognized as the "Best New Golf Course in North Carolina." The course was designed by 1997 PGA Championship winner Davis Love III, it was his first signature design in North Carolina. It has a traditional layout that epitomizes golf in the Carolina Sandhills. The layout features rolling emerald fairways lined with towering pines and undulating greens bordered by large roll-off areas, a tribute to the classic Donald Ross designs that are prevalent in the Sandhills. The challenging golf course has tricky doglegs and there are a variety of elevation changes throughout. Water comes into play on a few holes at Anderson Creek Golf Club, most memorably though on the par-3 fourth, which demands a carry over a large lake. Strategically placed bunkers also lurk along the greensides.

NICE LAYOUT-GREENS WERE NOT SO GREAT
The driving range was worth visiting, range balls were included in our round. The course was in pretty good shape, but in many areas they needed to manicure the overgrowth around the tee boxes. The fairways were decent but the bermuda rough is a bit too high for a non tournament course.
The greens were the biggest issue for a better rating. It looked like they should have been bent grass, but they have Bermuda growing randomly throughout the all the greens. They didn't roll well, and were not in great shape. There are many places to play golf in the Pinehurst area, and we probably won't return to Anderson Creek.
A Good Day
Greens could use some work and the pace was very slow but staff was friendly and overall a challenging but fun course.
Greens are in bad shape
Greens are overgrown with weeds. Some rough spots in fairways and rough. Overall condition is average.
Great day
First time playing this course and I got lucky to be paired up with 3 regulars/members because there are A LOT of blind tee shots, they gave me the right aim lines. The layout was very enjoyable and the tee boxes and fairways were in great shape, the greens had some mix Bermudas and we're a little tricky. I had a great time but I was also striking the ball really well! I would definitely play here again. Went to the snack bar after the round and had shrimp tacos and they were fantastic, and the beer was cold!
Great Course
Good course for the price. Course was in excellent condition and very challenging. Will definitely play again.
Back 9 awesome, the front nine needs some work to provide the same level of setup. Service after golf at bar was slow especially when looking to have a beverage. Would return had fun playing the course
Davis Love III design
Love the challenging layout with fair bailout areas if needed. The greens seamed to be having a difficult time filling in a month after punching and top dressing but played to a reasonable pace. The fairways are having a tough time recovering from our extremely wet fall, winter and spring. I recommend lift clean and place for a few weeks.
Quality course, friendly staff. I heard the food is pretty good too. The price doesn't break the bank. What's not to like?
Beer is cheap
Great lay out but not for the faint of heart. Several blind shots. The fairways grass was still dormant so picking the ball cleanly was paramount. If you use a gps note that many of the greens do not run perpendicular to fairways but more at a right angle so front to back reall depends on your approach. Fairways have ample room to spay a little but only a little. Overall a good time.
1st time at Anderson Creek.. Loved it
The surroundings of this course is perfect. Greens were lightning fast. Bermuda fairways still dormant in May, but the sand hills soil allows you to make great contact on the ball where the fairways are bare. Really enjoyed the elevation changes and monster greens and over all Davis Love layout. We'll plan a trip here in late April. May try their stay and play as they have a great condo / pool area for guests..
Great day at Anderson Creek .. .Feb golf!!!!
perfect day .. .course in great "winter" condition. haven't played Anderson Creek in a couple of years ... forgot how much we enjoy this course.
Great Layout, Friendly Staff
For early January and given the amount of rain the region has experienced, our round at Anderson Creek was outstanding. The tees, fairways, green and bunkers were all in good shape. The layout is challenging, but not punishing. The greens are typical Pinehurst area with not a straight putt to be found. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Great course
Super friendly and courteous staff. They make everyone feel like a member even if you aren't.
Great course - Friendly staff
Played 9 holes in the early afternoon. Nice electric carts. Grass driving range. Very flexible about start time. Could was in good shape for November. Greens were in great shape. Definitely enjoyed our round.
Very average
A nice challenging layout with visually appealing holes. Fairways were very thin for this time of year. Collars around greens were almost dead. Greens discolored in patches withvwhat looked like dead bent grass. This could be a really nice course but superintendent needs to up his game and get grass to grow.
