A good course if you get a good price deal. Tee boxes thin to sparce. Fairways bone dry, reminded me of our Ontario courses at the end of August after a long hot dry summer. Greens where cut and smooth and the ball rolled well. Bunkers ?? Well we just pull our ball out.

A nice course still with little grass in places. Greens are large and undulating so don’t get excited if you are on in regulation. Greens moderate speed but in good spring shape. A nice value

Haven't played Pinecrest in over 4 years. The track is well laid out, winding through woods, and features water hazards on 14 holes. Greens, fairways were in excellent, early season condition. This course plays tighter than many because of hazards (stands of trees or water) lining both sides of most fairways. Sand traps were in good shape, however some looked to be a bit thin. Most tee boxes in great shape, but a couple could benefit from having the tee markers moved more frequently.

Overall, my playing partner and I considered this an excellent track, worth the money, and the 19th hole was good value as well.

We'll definitely be back and with friends.

I have been coming to Hilton Head Island for a long time and over the years have played lots of courses here. I'm not very good but I love the game and playing it. This course has a very challenging layout from all tees but is in the worst shape of any course I've ever played here. It appears as if no one has touched the greens (except to mow the no grass greens). The fairways are bare and the rough is a cow pasture. There's too long a ride between holes and too many bunkers. It appears to have pretensions of being a championship course but there is a superintendent he needs to be replaced or demoted. The staff was friendly and the pace of play was good probably because there were very few people on the course. I'll not return.

While the layout revealed that this course was very good or has potential, it was not in very good condition today. While the greens were in fairly good shape for this time of year, that's about where it stopped. The fairways had minimal pieces of grass in many locations and the tee boxes were fiar as well.

This was my first round of the season, and this was a good place to start the year. The course was in nice shape for the time of year, only one hole was cart path only. The rough wasn’t penalizing and the greens rolled good and true. Lots of practice area at this course, the range has been reconfigured nicely. I like this course: holes are varied, water and woods are often a featured and I come away feeling like it was a good golf value .

I Have played here each of the last 5 Winters was pretty disappointed that they changed the 1st hole from a great opening Par 5 to a pretty boring Par 4. I get the reasoning to accommodate the junior program practice area but they took away a great opening hole!! Course is a real challenge from the back tees both length and accuracy are key. Greens rolled real nice and were in good shape. There are a few holes that seem to always be pretty wet but they are still playable. Will definitely keep playing here every winter.

This was our first time playing this course. Fairways were bare and very wet, even though other courses nearby that we played didn't seem to be wet..

Course was bad, wet, no grass on fairways or tee boxes greens just ok. Nothing like ship yard or golden bear. The cost cheaper than pinecrest. Don’t waste your time.

I’ve planned this course several times this year. The greens are in excellent shape, and the amenities are very nice. However, the fairways were wet, and the entire course was cart path only. I realize that happens from time to time, but this course seems to hold water more that a lot of other courses in the area. It’s concistently wet on several holes reardeless of how much rain occurred. The fairways are sparse with grass on several holes. I do like the layout and clubhouse, and the amenities are nice along with the staff.

We were not advised of cart path only. Course was extremely wet with very little grass on the fairways. Our guest is in their 80’s and we would have cancelled if the course had informed GolfNow who could have alerted us

Enjoyed playing. Course in decent condition despite the recent rain. Good pace of play and challenging holes.

The course was in very good condition for October. I reccomend to anyone considering to play.

Positives: The holes are interesting and the greens were in good condition.

Negatives: Fairways have no grass. It hasn't rained in weeks and every ball hit in the fairway was covered with mud. Cart paths are in bad condition and you spend a lot of time driving between holes so it's hard to play in less than 4-1/2 hours. Many holes have houses too close and dense brush too close that turns moderately bad shots into penalties.

Great day in Hilton Head. Pinecrest Golf course is a fun place to play and it is in great condition. Greens a little slow but ran very well once we got on to the speed. Definitely will be returning to play it again during our stay.

Really friendly proshop staff but ranger not so much. Had a foursome of myself and 3 new golfers. Starter has 2 twosomes behind us. Ranger catches us at 11 and says to pick up pace. Offered to let anyone play through but that wasn't an option for him?? Tried to skip a hole but caught foursome in front of us. Weird course lay out as well. Better deals for same $$ in HH.

Course was in very good shape fun course to play. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Gives u a great chance to see the area as the course winds all thru pine crest. Look forward to playing it again.

Tee boxes were a little rough. But hardly anyone was on the course, so I played a full 18 in 2 1/2 hrs
