Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course

Played on 4/2/23 in late afternoon with great weather. I have played 5-course in the area in the last month and this was far and away the best condition. Fairways were growing in nicely and greens are in good condition. A bit pricey for late afternoon at $116 with tax and fees but in much better shape than Bears Best which is about the same price. Add in the food and drinks included and not a bad value.

***One big problem is the golf carts. Constantly telling you that you are above the 7 MPH speed limit and that your cart will shut down (and constant beeping) is just plain ridiculous!!! The golf world has survived 50-years without this nonsense on a golf cart. One reason to consider not returning.

Played many of premier courses from Michigan to Florida and rate this one in top five for complete experience

This course is not for the faint of heart. It is very technical but such a cool course! The nicest staff I’ve ever seen and the nicest course I’ve ever played. 10/10 recommend and it’s definitely going to be a course I’ll play again!

As with most courses this time of year they are going through winter conditions. Fairways are trying to grow in but all the rain has made it difficult. Greens are in good shape but a little inconsistent in speed (probably also due to growing conditions). Bunkers are in great shape, tee boxes are being seeded and sanded and should be good soon. Overall still an amazing course and expect conditions are winter turning to spring. This Georgia winter and rain have been hard on all courses. Still can’t wait to go back!!!

With the constraints of being on Lake Lanier, this is a short course, but they have done a fantastic job of making the course challenging without being gimmicky. We played the Blue tees at "only" 6,200 yards, but the slope rating of 137 was dead on. Most of the short holes are either tucked behind water or are heavily guarded by sand traps. The greens are challenging but fair. A scratch golf would probably score very well (as demonstrated by the 71 course rating from the blue tees), but for the mid-handicap golfer, it's a real challenge.

I’ve played here a couple of times before. Course is in pretty good shape considering how much rain we’ve gotten the past couple of months. Staff was friendly and I love the complimentary food that comes with it.

Greens were just ok, they did not roll true and we’re very bumpy. Some on the back 9 I found a little more consistency with the roll and it wasn’t as bumpy as the front. Price is a little steep for the conditions of the course but you mainly pay for some of the incredible views on some of the holes.

Layout is challenging and ball placement is key off the tee. I only pulled out my driver 4 times the entire round.

Besides of the good conditions of the course, their people there make you feel home . Cart helpers, Proshop staf and the food are beyond !!

Course is tough but rewarding. Everything was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Marshall on front and back nine, made the game go quick, even though it was cart path only.

Perfect day for golf on New Year's Day 2023! Had a hot deal which i could not pass up. My partner and I practically had the course to ourselves. No crowd at all. Breakfast/ Lunch, snacks, drinks and ranges balls. Perfect. The course was in fantastic shape considering the wild weather we have been experiencing. Just love this place.

The course is challenging but it is fair. Keep the ball in the fairway and you will be rewarded. Great range, putting, chipping, bunker practice facilities. Staff are friendly and nice refreshments, food, and beverages included in the price. Will I return! Yes!
