Escena Golf Club

Enjoyed 18 holes of golf on a course that was in good shape considering the time of year here in the hot desert. I liked the wide fairways and consistent greens without any brown spots.

I have played this course nearly every time I have been in the desert since the course opened. Layout is very nice. I played in very warm summer conditions, yet the course was in very good shape. One thing they need to do it maintain their palm trees. I don't think they have been trimmed of dead prawns in years. It would look so much better with trimmed palms.

Escena has been a good deal in a beautiful place. The layout and design are excellent. Golf course maintenance has been challenging during the current drought, and Escena has done better than most at offering basic playability under conditions which have made many Palm Springs area publics either unplayable or "not fun". As usual, it is best to play this course in the morning.

For mid August this course was in great shape, nice track and from championship tees plenty tough.

Out very early in the morning, but still extremely hot. Loved the course and the shade of the trees when we found them. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Great prices in the "summer" season.

Well maintained fairways and greens. Had trouble with carts running out of power, but overall an enjoyable course. I'll play it again.

I was expecting more out of this course. I heard good reviews. The layout is ok. There is a fair amount of trash alongside hole #9 that should be cleaned up. Construction on going around the course. The greens were good and there are some good holes just nothing real spectacular. We also were behind a group playing a slow round of scramble which resulted in starting late and playing a long round.

This is a great course in good condition for the time of year.

Only negatives were pace of play. Very slow although it did speed up on the back nine. Also NO drinks cart whatsoever! Which in over 110 degrees is crazy! Very poor!

For the middle of July the price and conditions were great. Beautiful views as well. I'll be back again.

Always like this course, but the air-rating of the greens took a bit away of the nice pace of play.

Really enjoyed playing here for the first time this past weekend! Course was in great condition.. nice and open, forgiving fairways and good tee options depending how difficult you wanted the course to play. Only negative thing about the experience was the lack of a true driving range.. they have nets to hit into, otherwise this is my new favorite course in Palm Springs.

It was 115 degrees when I finished to get home to watch the US Open. The course was in very good shape with quite a bit of water on all of the course and smooth greens with moderate speed in spite of the heat.

Escena isn't the most interesting Nicklaus course, but it's a good, playable and affordable. Recommended, but may have deteriorated under the incessant heat by August.

From start to finish this course is amazing. The starter is genuinely friendly and set a perfect pace. The fairways are wide with a lot of forgiveness and well maintained. However, this is not the easiest course; Sand traps are well placed and greens can be challenging. Overall, if your looking for a great place to have a relaxing day of golf... this is it. Also, the food in the club house is amazing.

1st time playing course and it is a very challenging course form the tips. Had a pretty strong wind and added to the difficulty. Very long par threes. Show up early for my tee time and the pro shop let me out early with out any problem. rate was reasonable for afternoon round in the heat of June.

Excellent bunkering and bunker condition.

First time playing golf in the desert. Didn't know what to expect. Staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly starting from the first employee we encountered, Kyle. Great time and course in great shape. Would definitely return next time I'm in town.

Great experience from the outside staff when we pulled up. And Kyle that checked us in was a real professional. He made us feel welcomed and was helpful. The starter was also helpful and welcoming. Course was beautiful. Highly recommended!

Course was in great condition, staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back to the desert to play this course again.
