Riverside secret

Oceanography is a really nice course right along banks of the Chowan River with a nice sea breeze on a hot summer day. It’s worth the drive to discover this hidden secret.

BEAUTIFUL COURSE

Definitely will be back. This place is immaculate. Staff was friendly, food was great (best burger I’ve had on a course). Tee box, fairways and greens were nice. The views really set it off for me.

Fun course

It was a fun course to play. The greens were smoking fast and the fairways were dry and hard so you were getting a lot of roll on the ball. The gentleman at the desk in the pro shop was helpful and very nice.

Mr. Roberts

It was cold and windy but had a great time. I actually had the back 9 a to myself. The joke came when that huge tree was in the middle of the fairway, with the green surrounded by bunkers…it was awesome. I look forward to playing when the course is green!

Beautiful golf course and community!

Four of us traveled south from Virginia Beach to play Occano in October. We are so glad we made the trip. Beautiful, fun and challenging course, great scenery , so many picturesque holes and so well maintained. It was one of the best trips we've made in several years. The staff (Bubba and dining room staff) were so helpful and friendly. I can't wait to play it again.

One of the true gems in North Carolina

So much to like about this course - from the folks in the pro shop to one of the best stretch of closing holes I can think of anywhere. We had a beautiful day and there were other players out, but we had a real nice pace. Never waited, never felt rushed. Enjoyed the variety of shots required and of course, the incredible scenery offered by the Sound. Move this course closer to a metro area and you'd have to pay double. Get your round in now before this goes private. Can't wait to get back and tee it up here again.
