West Orange Country Club
About
West Orange Country Club is known throughout central Florida as the home of the West Orange Invitational, where the area's best amateur players gather to compete every November. The golf course was opened in 1967 and rebuilt in 2006 with Tifdwarf grass, providing it with some of central Florida's smoothest putting surfaces. The par-71 layout has a traditional design that features narrow, tree-lined fairways and water hazards in the form of several small ponds and a meandering creek. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course's par 4s are particularly memorable. One example is the par-4 sixth, the presence of West Orange's signature Oak tree makes this dogleg left hole even more intimidating. The golf course finishes with a risk-reward par 4 that emphasizes strategy over strength.

Not quire what I expected but would return if the price is good
Course was in grat shape, good price.
Really good course for the money we paid. staff was friendly. Greens were nice and same speed throughout day. I would play this course again.
old school hidden gem
A hidden old school golf gem not to be confused with the other courses that have Orange in their name. From the drive in we knew that we were in for a treat. Arrived a little earlier then tee time and given the time of day hit a break on the tees and were able to tee off early. west orange lake was/is a private club that has limited tee times to be a member for a day. old school course tree lined fairways small well bunkered rolling greens, no cart paths around greens, no directions just look at wear patterns, not much trouble off the tees to generously wide fairways and clean rough amongst the trees. A good mixture of 3.4.5's with doglegs straight a ways The fairways were green in good condition with a short ruff that will be more difficult as the season progresses. . The greens were fair and very playable. With 4 sets of tees great course for all skill levels. The round was very enjoyable and even with waiting for a slow foursome that was 4 holes in front before we caught up played in just over 3 hrs a great pace the best this year..will be back soon.
