David L. Baker Memorial Golf
About
The David L. Baker Golf Course is an affordable public course located in Fountain Valley. It has an approachable layout that is versatile enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels. No two holes are alike but all of the greens and fairways share the same excellent conditions. Water has a prominent presence on this executive golf course with lakes and ponds running alongside many of the holes. The sloped greens are lightning fast and the fairways are tightly manicured. Beside the greens lurk treacherous sand traps that are just waiting to swallow errant shots. Although there are some tricky holes, the layout is gentle enough for beginners. It is an enjoyable and affordable round that offers excellent short game practice, no matter what skill level.

Golfer Reviews
Night golf at its best
There's not too many places where you can play night golf. There's even less places where you can play an executive 18 with a cart at night. Some of the fairways are tight and close. There's several times where we have to wait to tee of because there were people in our fairway from two different holes. Some of the pins are hard to find. But I had a blast!
Terrible Pace of Play
It took 5 hours to play an executive course. Threesomes were playing 2 balls and the marshal was not pushing anyone along. If you are looking to drink and swing a club this may be your place. If you are looking to practice and get into a rhythm, this course is not for you.
Fun, Convenient, Affordable
Great way to fit in a round on a Friday afternoon. Easy to take an afternoon off, get to the course and finish a round. The course will not be a big challenge for low-handicappers but it's fair, lots of fun, and very affordable.
Course was water logged
No Carts were Allowed my son was just recovering from a broken foot and we couldn't go more than 5 holes, there were 4 in our group.
Hi dklein18, we apologize for any inconvenience you and your son experienced during your visit. Due to the rain storms we received around the time you came to play, we were not allowing carts out on the course for the protection of our patrons and to prevent damage to our fairways. We unfortunately do not have cart paths throughout the entire course, so going Cart Path Only is not an option for us. We will always allow you to reschedule your tee time and we accept cancellations and provide refunds whenever weather plays a factor for your scheduled tee time.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we hope to make your next experience at our course more enjoyable.
Good value
Overall conditions were good. Tee boxes were pretty torn up though. Was very disappointed that the bar/snack shop closed at 1:00 just as we were making the turn. Course used to have a drink cart around the course but didn’t have that either. I like this course for the more social aspects as one of our foursome was a beginner The amenities are important to me.
All tee boxes were moved way up.
Every tee box for. every hole were moved way up. Not Worth the money.. they should have Provided a reduced green fee.
I would not recommend this golf course to a friend with this type of condition.
Hi Rich, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate hearing about your experience and apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered. This is the time of year where we are overseeding and fixing our tee boxes and we apologize for not giving advanced notice of this issue. Let us know if there's anything else we can do.
a crap course
Golf in and around the Los Angeles area has gone downhill over the last 10 years - 15 years and David L. Baker is just another example of Golf courses that do not care about about the golfer or the experience.
There was no warning that all the tees were combined. This is effectively false advertising. The pace was horrible. Hitting the ball and then waiting 10 minutes after every shot is not golf. Mostly beginner/novice golfers that have no concept of pace. The whole course was just crap. Even the restroom did not have a working sink. See attached picture. Never going back.
Hi zero9si, thank you for sharing your experience at David L. Baker. We apologize for the disappointment you encountered with the combined tees and the pace of play. We strive to provide a positive golfing experience and appreciate your feedback. We apologize for the restroom issue as well and that issue has been addressed and fixed.
Hi tjvandusen, thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for the delay you experienced during your round and any inconvenience caused. We appreciate your input and will address the issue with our marshal team to ensure a more efficient pace of play in the future.
