David L. Baker Memorial Golf
About
The David L. Baker Golf Course is an affordable public course located in Fountain Valley. It has an approachable layout that is versatile enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels. No two holes are alike but all of the greens and fairways share the same excellent conditions. Water has a prominent presence on this executive golf course with lakes and ponds running alongside many of the holes. The sloped greens are lightning fast and the fairways are tightly manicured. Beside the greens lurk treacherous sand traps that are just waiting to swallow errant shots. Although there are some tricky holes, the layout is gentle enough for beginners. It is an enjoyable and affordable round that offers excellent short game practice, no matter what skill level.

Enjoyed the round.
I played with a friend and we had a great time. The course was not busy and we did not wait on any tee areas until the last three holes. The sand traps are difficult to play from. To me this is the area that this course most improve: the sand traps....
nice executive course
great for practicing on your short games and driving with 8 reachable par 4s.
Nice day for golf.
Baker's greens are in good shape, fairways okay... not too much rough, but clumps can be bothersome.
Fun to play today. Pacing was nice. Not overly busy.
Great course for the money
My son and I play this course regularly. The pace can be slow at times but it's still a good one.
It's well taken care of and allows us to use all our clubs.
Great course
We play here once a week. It’s close to our home, and of course conditions are impeccable. The only thing wrong is I’ve yet to get a hole-in-one.
Great course conditions
This course is in pristine condition. The greens and fairways are always clear of debris from tree branches etc, and also are in healthy condition. We play here every weekend and enjoy playing challenging holes.
Slow Pace
The biggest problem here are the other golfers that do not understand golf etiquette. Twice the pair behind us hit onto the green as we were finishing our putts. Not caring that there was a group of 3 and another pair waiting at the next tee box. First 6 holes - no problem, but once it backed up, no way to play without feeling rushed. Be VERY careful when you book your tee time, although I have heard there is really NO time that it is not overcrowded. It will have to be a GREAT deal for me to play this course again.
Zero course management
Midday, midweek but still incredibly slow. Management puts out consecutive twosomes and does not care at all about pace of play.
Will not be back.
This course has great features
I like to play at this course because it is closed to home.
Solid course.
Average flat land layout course. A few challenging holes over/around water. Wish we would’ve known they had just aerified the greens. Other than that, would definitely be back.
Solid Course
Basic flat land course. Tree lines. One thing I would’ve appreciated to know was that they just aerified the greens. Other than that, solid course. Will be back.
