David L. Baker Memorial Golf
About
The David L. Baker Golf Course is an affordable public course located in Fountain Valley. It has an approachable layout that is versatile enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels. No two holes are alike but all of the greens and fairways share the same excellent conditions. Water has a prominent presence on this executive golf course with lakes and ponds running alongside many of the holes. The sloped greens are lightning fast and the fairways are tightly manicured. Beside the greens lurk treacherous sand traps that are just waiting to swallow errant shots. Although there are some tricky holes, the layout is gentle enough for beginners. It is an enjoyable and affordable round that offers excellent short game practice, no matter what skill level.

Sunday Morning
This course is great for golfs that are beginning or that need to brush up on their short game.
good practice for my son and myself
I have a 14 year old who has only been playing for 6 months. This is great practice for both of us. It is not too costly to play. A good deal.
Economicaly and accasable well worth
I was quite pleased that we were able to play where you didn't have to pay an arm and leg to enjoy ourselves. It wasn't that crowded and easy on the legs of a 72 yr. young hacker.
Tight fairways
pace of play was good speed on a 7:38 weekday tee time. My wife and I were partnered up with a very nice twosome. Greens were in nice shape, tee boxes are well used.
Gets packed!
I like the course! Just got backed up with about 10 players waiting around on the back nine. Good course for all levels and great bargain for being in FV.
Quick Weekend Round
Not too crowded. Able to get done in about 3 hours.
incredible greens
By far the best I have played in and around orange county. Fairways we're great also.Speed of play just a little slow but still had a great time.
Nice Layout
The staff at DLB are excellent. The course is in good shape despite drought conditions. I play here often and will continue to do so.
Great course to practice on
This is a great course to get better at your game without spending a lot of money.
Great transformation and improvement
Wow. What a change. New management has really made good efforts to improve the entire property. Fairways and most ponds much improved and in good condition. Very nice contour mowing of fairways and landing areas, and nice striping of fairways, too. Added yardage markers on par four holes. Various remodeling also planned.
Teed off at noon on Friday and pace of play soon became very slow. Nearly a 4 hour round.
3.5 hour round
The course was in great condition Granger little bumpy so they don't roll that fast you can be helpful if you got that good. Food was very good
Midweek Gem
Great shape, fast, tough to read undulating greens. Fairways have plenty of grass (no dry spots) and the bunkers are in great shape. Golf staff in pro shop is great.
Teach Pace of Play
This is a course for beginners, that is wonderful! Pace of play is a lesson that beginners need to learn along with the swing. A marshall would be helpful
Nice quick round of good golf
This is a fairly straight forward course. Numerous par 3s and the rest are par 4s. The holes are protected by slopey greens and sand traps. Pace of play was wonderful and the staff was ultra friendly. This is a good place to hone your game in all respects.
This course offers a great afternoon getaway or golf fix
The course is challenging enough to use most your clubs. The customer service is great and of the many courses I have played in Southern Cal. I would say the one of the best customer service experiences. The only negative is the pace is a little slow.
Always fun
Such a good course for your short game. I always enjoy myself. Also fun at night.
This place is slow
Well lets start with how many people they put on the course . It's all about the money the greens are ok but the tee boxes horrible they need to put some money there . 4 1/2 hrs later you are done.
Good for Beginners
Decided to play a Saturday afternoon round here, should've known better. I was expected a long round already since I knew this course has a lot of beginners on it, but this was the worst I have seen in years. We were a twosome behind a foursome, and the foursome decided it was a driving range and hit 2 - 3 balls each from the tee box while giving each other lessons. We got to see each tee shot since by the time we finished the hole they were barely starting to tee off. There is no marshal on the course, nor did I really expect one. I took my friend who is just starting and was telling him, "you see what they are doing, don't do that." I get you're there to have fun, but have some courtesy to others that are playing.
Fun for the money
This fun little executive course that offers just enough hazards and yardage to make it interesting. Pace was good and we rarely waited despite being being a 5 some. The greens were a train wreck however and for some reason they were watering in the middle of the day. The food was a disappointment but the drinks were cold. All in all a fun day if you don't take your game to seriously.
