Not a warm greeting
I was surprised by the greeting at the clubhouse after telling him I was 10 minutes late. He gave me that dagger eye look which wasn't good start to my round. I play here once a week and not feeling good. I have to begin looking for another course in the area to go to.They also need a Ranger on the course for the fee that you pay. Not well managed any longer. Such a shames for a challenging layout.
Solid, other reviews are misleading
All the other reviews trashing this place are very misleading. Look, this course is challenging and I wouldn’t recommend it to a first time or new golfer, but if you have played before this course is an interesting challenge. I’m not good, I shot 102 and I enjoyed the course, the fairways are tough, the slopes left to right/right to left are the most challenging part, the fairways are legitimately tough to hit.
But the course itself has an interesting and challenging layout. The greens are in good condition and the tee boxes are in better shape than other reviews let on. The fairways aren’t terrible, and the rough isn’t crazy punishing as many times your ball will roll into it due to the slope.
The price is just Bay Area madness, but that is par for the course in this neck of the woods. This is a $50 round of 18 in any other city.
For $90 on the weekend…
I’d expect more considering the selection of courses we have available in the area for that price range.
Still hasn't improved
If you've played here when it was Summitpointe, then you know the layout. Same conditions as the previous course name, which is not a good thing.
If you've never played here, then you're going to be in for a long day. Pace of play is really slow. Especially if people are looking for their lost balls due to the course layout. Think 4.5+ hour round.
At $75 - $95 a round w/cart. It's not worth it. Look for Hot Deals if you want to try it out or give it another go.
Windy Hills
First time on this course, and it was a LONG drive for me.
The winds were painful, so if your game is 10 HC or lower, this might be a good place to play.
I do NOT think i would do that again.
Big improvement. Ways to go
I’ve last played this course when it was Summitpointe a few years ago. There’s been a huge improvement in the state of the course but a lot more can be done. I love the layout and the challenge even though it’s a tough course. There’s a lot that can be done to improve the fairways. The greens have become very difficult from what I remember but that’s fine - can’t shirk a challenge. Overall good. Experience

Hills, hills and more hills
BayView (aka Summit Pointe) is challenging due to the hills and water features. The course currently is in relatively good condition, considering the lack of rain. The gopher issue in the fairways is more under control than I've ever seen it. The carts now have restricted monitors which do not allow you in those areas. It would be nice if the GPS system also map these restricted areas, so it's not just a guessing game.
Enjoyable Playing Envoirnment
Excellent course. It was a pleasure to play. However, cart GPS system needs a lot of improvement.
Mediocre at best.
The track is very gimmicky and a few of the holes make you ask yourself “what the heck is goin on here?” It’s a fun place to just go and play but it’s truly nothing special. Especially when it’s overpriced 90% of the time. $90 for a morning tee time? Ridiculous. We also ended up waiting about 20-25 minutes at each hole for the groups ahead of us to play. Course Marshal drove by and said absolutely nothing to the guys in front of us 10 putting everything. Range is irons only so that can suck. Great pro shop, super friendly and helpful, the restaurant is delicious as well. It will never be worth paying $90 to play here when Spring Valley is 5 minutes away, always costs less, has a more fun track to play and rarely has pace of play issues.
Average price decent course not for high handicap
Most holes in good condition
A few under repair? No grass in fairway
Greens are groomed nicely but challenging
Back 9 is not for high handicaps

Still the same stupid greens
I played this course a few times back when it was Tulercitos and then Summit Pointe. An acquaintance told me the course was in good shape and they redid all the greens. What he did not say was that all they did was replant grass on the same stupid unorthodox sloping idiot green layouts. They had the chance to do a lot of good things for the course and failed completely. I hit 13 of 14 fairways and ended up in the rough on all but 2 of them. That is a horrible design. Will Never play there again, even if it was FREE.
