Don’t go here
Do not go here! I rarely leave reviews no matter how good or bad my experience was but I must warn other golfers. DO NOT GO HERE. By far the worst course in the South Bay. The staff is unpleasant and do not do their job well at all. This is the only course where the pace of play and golf etiquette is a non factor. The pace of play here is totally unacceptable.
Yesterday My tee time was 20 minutes late and getting through 9 holes was a painful 3 hours.
I used to come here a lot since the remodel when the course was being run well, every time I give it another chance I get slapped with a reminder why I never go to bayview anymore. For the price you can literally go anywhere else for cheaper and a better golf experience.
Bay View Course Rocks
This is a challenging course with three tee distances for all levels. Having said that, its is mid level and above players course. Although later in the day will be best if you are a beginner to come enjoy the golf, practice tees and food. They have a decent restaurant that offers delicious food where you can sit out by the patio and enjoy watching the golfers play.
Greens were unacceptable
Fix the greens, they are way too fast when considering the slope wind and bay 1 out of 3 holes were unable to hold the ball at any point on the green even when putting the ball past the hole it would roll all the way back off the green. Wont be playing here anymore.
Course of last resort
If you can’t find a tee time any place else then play here. We were 20 minutes late teeing off with 5 groups waiting on the first tee. That continues through the front nine. Super slow play.
The greens here are RIDICULOUS and completely unfair. It’s not real golf when you get on the greens. I thought they made improvements but I was wrong. They were so bad we just stopped counting putts. Awful!
The bar staff was friendly but all you could eat on the turn was a hot dog. How about have some sandwiches? And no cart serving drinks on a Sunday??
Just terrible
Given this place so many chances (at least 10 rounds) but it’s just awful, pace of play can be unbearable and I’ve never once seen a marshal. Layout on the front 9 is as poor as I have ever seen. 2nd, 4th and 8th fairways are nearly impossible to hit because of the slope. Most of the tee boxes aren’t level and the cluster of the 7,8, 9 fairways winding through each other make it a battlefield of balls coming at you. Not to mention the “geofence” they put on the carts make you walk half the course. 8th hole green is an absolute joke, we make it an automatic 2 putt once you’re on green because the possibility of a 4-5 putt is very real. Back 9 is a little friendlier but by the time you get done playing a 2.5 hour front 9 watching every tee shot roll off the fairway or every putt funnel away from the hole, you’re over it
Nice course!
The green is challenge, hole 2 and hole 8 is hard for me.
Bay View review
I found the course just as bad as when it was Summit. No matter how good your drive is the ball always rolls off into the rough or hazard.
Never again!
Beware the weekends
As our COVID crisis continues, so does the attraction to the sport by new players trying to find something to do that conforms to social distancing while engaging in out-door activity. It is great for the sport as these new players get 'bit' by the golf bug and hopefully continue to support and fund the courses that make this possible. But just like a lifeguard or ski patrol who ensure the activities are enjoyable (and safe) for novice and experts alike , PLEASE, PLEASE course marshals, Do your job!
I get that hacks and duffs are all part of learning the game, but at some point you need encourage the pace of play, recommend picking up, or playing a scramble within the group. And if you really need that satisfying affirmation of the ball hitting the cup, might I recommend putting an empty red solo in your cart cup holder.
Impossible
Had 10+ great tee shots here into the fairway. The fairway is about as hard as the green didn’t hold one. my good shots ended up as cartpath shots
Not cool
With a Tee time of 8:57 we didn’t tee off until 9:30, only delay is from over loading the course we waited for 2 groups to tee off ahead of us at every tee box. It took us 5 1/2 hours to play this course. Never again
Golf cart rules are not fun
Course is hard enough to walk .. don’t walk .. cart gps rules are super tight so carts are useless for the most part .. so expect slow play but a nice pretty course and expect a lot of walking
Course was in fair condition
I’ve played this course many times and this was the worst I’ve seen it. A lot of The fairways were soggy as if the sprinklers ran all night. A lot of the greens had dirt patches and burn marks on them. Worst of all the pace of play was ridiculous. Our tee time was at 8:50 and got off twenty minutes late because of slow play and it got worse as the day progressed. When we got to the fifth hole there were two foursomes waiting to tee off and no Marshall in sight to speed up play. We didn’t see a Marshall until the 12th. Hole and the round took five hours and forty minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially the girl taking food and drink orders.
Bad layout and fairway
Never played in such a battlefield with golf balls flying everywhere in holes 7,8,9. It's like hiking with balls thrown at you. The fairways are narrow and many restricted cart pathways which are far from the fairways. Definitely not worth the money at all.
Terrible place of play at a challenging course
Bay View is a beautiful and challenging course with speedy greens. However, charging around 95$ for weekend play with cart to play a 6 hour round is robbery. They managed to overbook to the point that each hole had close to 3-4 groups waiting to tee. The gps carts kept warning us that we were ~an hour behind in terms of pace of play and there was nothing being done outside of one hole. Truly frustrating to set aside 5 hours to play just to only get to hole 14. If you have a chance to play on a weekday, you will likely have a much better experience. Don’t bother wasting your time on weekends or holidays because they will overbook and milk you like a cow on a dairy farm.
Waiting game!
It was a low pace from groups in front and so on! We tee’d off at 12:45 for a 12:33 tee time and didn’t improved anymore during the game, more delays and waiting! Maybe it’s weekend pace and busy day!? But really frustrating was we didn’t finish the e game because of darkness!
Nice Couse
Tee time were on time and not too crowded. Pace was great for midday Saturday
