Steady improvement

Course is getting better on every level. New tee boxes coming in on certain holes and the fairways are all taken care of. Course is still tough and narrow at times but fair and true. Only issue I had was that the course had punched their greens and didn’t notify golf now nor did anyone in the pro shop tell me.

Challenging Layout but Pricey

Second time playing BayView since new management took over and changed the name (used to be Summit Point)..

Course conditions are better than in the old days. Greens were recently aerated when we played but still rolled pretty good and looked like they would be pretty good. Fairways in the bare side - lots of patchy dirt spots and thin grass coverage plus some really muddy spots. Tee boxes ok but some were really mushy and muddy.

Overall our foursome enjoyed the round except for one asshat (another player, not a marshall/staff) that was yelling at us to pick up the pace because the threesome in front of us cleared the green while we were still teeing off on the 9th hole even though we were on a 1:45 pace for the front nine.

Our only issue was that $95 with cart is pretty steep for this course. $55 walking $70 riding would be a better price point. We would put it into our weekly rotation otherwise.

Weird greens and no perfect lies.

I haven’t play here for a very long time. The last time I played here it was called Summitpointe. First off the hitting range (iron only) seem to improved cuz you can hit on grass now. As for the course it still the same layout. Your tee shot might be good but your approach shot are always on uneven lies and can make your day into a frustrating outing. The greens are really tough to read and if you missed low the weird thing happens your ball be rolling down to the bottom. The worst part is majorities of these greens are straight set to kill your game. The front 9 seem to be a lot enjoyable than the back 9. The back 9 are much more narrower fairway and if you get windy day. Then from hole 15 to 17 is like hitting into topical storm like wind and hole 18 is just straight up ducks and geese poops heaven. I’m not sure why this course is are expensive than other course around them. If you want to challenge your game and play on uneven lies and uphill approach shot then this is the course for you.

Not your typical course

I have been playing this course for over thirty years and everytime I say I won't be back but it seems to be the only tee time available. You just do not get flat lies and the greens are very difficult due to the massive slops. Hole 8 I was pin high and missed on the low side and it rolled almost twenty feed down the hill. Just do not feel this is how golf is meant to be played. Will not be back just not fun to play it.

Course not in good condition and certainly should not be that expensive. Other courses in the South Bay are cheaper and better

I enjoy Bay View

The greens are consistent and challenging. The pin placement forces you to play smart. Tee boxes are decent, some forward tee setups leave little space to tee up. Fairways in good shape, under repair areas minimal. Overall a great course I enjoy playing.

Great greens. Rough fairways

The course played well if you're a good target golfer. Lots of under repair areas and the tee boxes were rough. It looked life they were making headway in repairs. Would recommend, fun course.

Consistently Improving

Our group of three tee'd off at noon on a Saturday behind a twosome with no one in front of them for at least 6 holes. The price point coupled with past reviews is the cause. I have played here a few times since the course changed owners and has gone under renovations and each time I come back, it's consistently better each time. The tee boxes were nice and found the fairways in much better shape. The greens are certainly the toughest part of the course and you must be below the pin at all times. While putting downhill or the sides are very difficult, the greens were smooth and well maintained. There are patches of dry/missing grass on most holes however they are all off the fairway and I don't expect a course to be maintaining them during our 3 year drought. I love the course layout and how you can play any number of shot choices on all par 4's and 5's. Most comfortable golf carts in the area with GPS and bluetooth with fine dining and adult beverage choices. There are large areas where you can't drive your cart on every hole but that's your fault for hitting a bad shot off target. Didn't see a food/drink golf cart during the round but they offer ice chests. Being able to play 18 holes on a Saturday for $75 with a subperb cart on great greens in less than 4 1/2 hours is more than fair for the Bay Area. We'll be back.
