About
Buenaventura Golf Course originally opened in 1932 as a nine-hole course but closed in 2004 for major renovations. The course's original designer, William Bell, was consulted for the redesign. It was transformed into a more challenging course, but the 1930s design features were carefully preserved. The parkland layout may seem short at just over 6,000 yards but like many of the courses from that era, length is not as important as strategy and course management. The strategically placed bunkers have classic shapes that blend seamlessly into the natural environment as though they were carved by the river. The bunkers combined with the fast, sloping greens make the golf course a shot-maker's paradise. One of Buenaventura's most memorable holes is the par-4 13th. It is one of Bell's original designs, an interesting risk-reward opportunity with water along the right.

Great round
My friends and I usually get out fridays after work we try change courses with many close by, but rates keep us at the less expensive courses Going out as often as we do .
I was impressed with the shape of the course tee box and green were clean and smooth a few repair spots in fairways but all in all great , pace of play was great we went out with 3 and it took us about half the round to catch the four in front we were still able to get in 18 easy starting at 415, this will now be one of the top courses we go out to for rates and condition you cant go wrong

The course was in such magnificent shape. It feels great to play in a well maintained course.
One of my new favorite tracks in Ventura!
I’ve played a few courses in Camarillo and Oxnard in the past, but I’d never had the opportunity to play this course. My group and I were pleasantly surprised on how much we enjoyed, just about every facet of our round. Let me first say the staff was very friendly when we checked. The course was in great condition and the pace of play was excellent, especially considering it was a Saturday morning. It played a little shorter then the tracks I usually play, but the greens were challenging. On course staff was A+. All in all, was an awesome time and I’ll definitely be including this course in our rotation!

Course is is in really good condition, greens were fast, had a great time.
Consistently good course
Greens are in good shape after punching a few weeks ago and fairways are a little better than comparable muni courses.
Staff and service are always good. Golfers should note that Buena’s layout isn’t all that complex and it’s fairly short yardage (blue is comparable to White elsewhere, and even black is a modest length blue at most other courses). Still, it’s nut an executive length course and always fun to play.

As always a nice course and cooperative staff.
Greens were still pretty bumpy from punching earlier this month. Some very bumpy putts.
