Buenaventura Golf Course
About
Buenaventura Golf Course originally opened in 1932 as a nine-hole course but closed in 2004 for major renovations. The course's original designer, William Bell, was consulted for the redesign. It was transformed into a more challenging course, but the 1930s design features were carefully preserved. The parkland layout may seem short at just over 6,000 yards but like many of the courses from that era, length is not as important as strategy and course management. The strategically placed bunkers have classic shapes that blend seamlessly into the natural environment as though they were carved by the river. The bunkers combined with the fast, sloping greens make the golf course a shot-maker's paradise. One of Buenaventura's most memorable holes is the par-4 13th. It is one of Bell's original designs, an interesting risk-reward opportunity with water along the right.

Nice course to play during the week
Great course to play during the week. Play can get very slow on weekends but most people are friendly and understanding when things get backed up. The staff has always been accommodating.
Not to tough
Nice course for mid to high handicap players, Quite forgiving. The greens are a bit soft which makes them rather slow. Normally the pace is decent, but the last two times I played there I had some tournament play in front of me slowing things down. Overall I always enjoy playing this course.
Great Fun course
Fun links course. Pace of play for a threesome moved along. Enjoyed the day.
Love this course
Fun course not very hard. Weather always perfect!!
Slow
Don’t know how they allowed a five some at 7:40 especially when the they were behind nice course but unless you have first tee time forget it
Solid conditions
So I live 5 minutes from the course and grew up playing here, I haven’t played Buena for a few years. I remember it as being short and in semi good condition.. Well that has changed. They have done a great job of making the course into a fun track. It isn’t long, even from the black tees, but you still need to put the ball in play to score well. The tee boxes are in great shape. The fairways are well taken care of. And the greens were soft yet fast. I will be back soon.
Course In Great Shape
The greens were excellent. We had a lot of fun. The staff took great care of us.
Buenaventura is a great tract for golfers seeking shorter courses. The Blue tees were about 5800 yds and offered a good challenge for a senior golfer. The. Course layout included water hazards, a lot of bunkering around the greens, visually intimidating tee boxes and near blind approach shots. The course is well maintained and both fairways and greens were in great shape. Overall this was a fun course to play and a fantastic value.
11am start time
I really enjoyed my round here a few days ago. The one thing that was a surprise is they don’t have an actual driving range, you hit into nets. The course was in very very good condition on the greens, fairways, and tee boxes. The clean fairways and short course make this a very getable course, but it’s a great layout for the space they have to work with (hence no driving range). Don’t let the short yardage fool you though bc they did a GREAT job on the greens. No greens are flat and easy so they make you work for your birdies. It’s all about positioning yourself from tee to green here. I’d hit from the blacks to give you the courses full layout.
Nice short course for the $$
Best to secure a hot deal on GN, teed off early Saturday morning, $26 with cart. Finished in a little over 3 hours.. Easy to get around, fairways decent. Can’t beat the weather and it’s a course that makes you feel good about your game! Scores in the 70’s are possible here!! Always friendly staff and a nice little grill/bar after your round!
Good Condition, Kudos to Kemper Golf
Kemper Golf has done a fantastic job for what it has to deal with. The layout is not great, and it has too many holes where people hit into you and pace of play is ALWAYS SLOW. Fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
Great course for the price
Always a great time at Buenaventura. Looking forward to playing it again soon.
Best value early afternoon
Teed off 1:10. Joined another single on 2. Wide open until hole 10. Slowed down a bit but still finished before 4!
Great price and fast pace. Awesome!
