About
Buenaventura Golf Course originally opened in 1932 as a nine-hole course but closed in 2004 for major renovations. The course's original designer, William Bell, was consulted for the redesign. It was transformed into a more challenging course, but the 1930s design features were carefully preserved. The parkland layout may seem short at just over 6,000 yards but like many of the courses from that era, length is not as important as strategy and course management. The strategically placed bunkers have classic shapes that blend seamlessly into the natural environment as though they were carved by the river. The bunkers combined with the fast, sloping greens make the golf course a shot-maker's paradise. One of Buenaventura's most memorable holes is the par-4 13th. It is one of Bell's original designs, an interesting risk-reward opportunity with water along the right.

Golfer Reviews
Great course
Great conditions considering the massive amount of rain we received the previous day. Very fun course with a few tough spots but overall a forgiving course. Can’t wait to go back.
Friendly and local atmosphere.
I’ve played the course before and enjoyed my round. I was paired with a good mix of players and they were very friendly. Overall the experience was good. I always get a neighborhood vibe when I play there and like the experience!
Beautiful Day
I love playing this course! Something about golfing and being by the beach in gorgeous weather. What could be better?!
Oh and I didnt even mention the friendly staff they have here. :)
Beautiful Day
The course staff is very friendly. The fairways were a little wet in some spots but for the most part, it was just right. You cant beat the weather. And there are some great places to eat and/or shop just around the corner. Overall a very nice day!
John’ Buena Ventura Review
Tees off at 1:20 pm yo take advantage of the 42 rate. Fairways on most holes were very clean. Ball it and rolled. Tee boxes could be shaved some. Greens were in great shape but could have been shaved also. PlAred here probably 50 plus tones.?always enjoy. My wife says it’s her favorite course.
Great Value
Course was in good shape, especially the greens. This is a shorter, easier course, but it's an enjoyable track. We will definitely be back again. We had a great day.
Great course, try it!
This course is being managed so well now. If you haven't been here for awhile because the conditions were poor, you should come out and play it, it's in great shape, good pace of play, and very reasonable.
Good value, fun course
I hadn't played here in years so it was like playing it for the first time. I enjoyed the condition and layout of the course even though the fairways are stacked together pretty tightly. The greens were generally in good shape and fun to negotiate. We rode but this course is well suited for walking.
Nice course
Buena Ventura is a nice course. The fairways and greens are generally in good shape. It is a reasonably challenging course, but not overly difficult. Water is in play on a few holes, and afternoon winds can make things challenging.
This course has no great features
1, smelled from most of lakes
2, hole punched on fairways
3, price is high compare near golf courses, like
river ridge or olivas links
4, layout is poor
5, unbalanced distance, front nine holes are short.
and back nines are much longer
