Buenaventura Golf Course
About
Buenaventura Golf Course originally opened in 1932 as a nine-hole course but closed in 2004 for major renovations. The course's original designer, William Bell, was consulted for the redesign. It was transformed into a more challenging course, but the 1930s design features were carefully preserved. The parkland layout may seem short at just over 6,000 yards but like many of the courses from that era, length is not as important as strategy and course management. The strategically placed bunkers have classic shapes that blend seamlessly into the natural environment as though they were carved by the river. The bunkers combined with the fast, sloping greens make the golf course a shot-maker's paradise. One of Buenaventura's most memorable holes is the par-4 13th. It is one of Bell's original designs, an interesting risk-reward opportunity with water along the right.

Best conditions ANYWHERE for this time of year!
Played this course after playing rounds at Olivas Links and River Ridge in the past month. I was skeptical of this course’s design due to its short yardage, but it was a great course that allowed you to score well while still giving a challenge. The greens were absolutely perfect, and the tee boxes and fairways were in well-kept condition. The rough wasn’t exactly great, but it still was playable and fair at many parts. Overall, it was a great course and will look here first when booking any more tee times!
Awesome Course
Very simple but amazing course. Greens were in perfect condition. Bunkers were nice. Fairways were dormant, but very playable.
Great short course
Love this course, nice layout with a couple challenging holes always a great roll!!
Merry Christmas!
Played on Christmas day for the first time and was thrilled to see the course in perfect condition. Greens were true and in great shape. Fairways were in their luscious-carpet-like condition. And my girlfriend broke 50 on the front 9 for the first time ever so it was a very fun day! This course, and their sister course Olivas Links, are some of the best golf for the money in Southern California and we will be back!
Windy Day
Had a fun round this morning- perfect in the early morning but Santa Ana winds kicked up before 11am. Played with a friendly golfer, but had a bunch of grumpy old men behind us. Overall, had a great outing but had to dodge the tumble weeds!
Good course to play
Challenging yet easy to play. Well maintained course.
No range, just nets to hit into. Putting green is ok
Thank you Golf Pass! Hole in One!
Thanks to Golf Pass for sending a dozen Taylor Made Tour Response balls with the membership. After over 30 years, I made my first hole in one on #11 from 100 yards. I've always played Pro V1, but after this day, I think I'll continue to give these new balls some play. Thanks again for a bucket list memory. Thanks also to Buenaventura for a very memorable day!

1st time riding the blacks
Had a great round today with my buddy. We got paired up with two local guys that were very friendly and suggested we try it from the blacks. I’m glad we did because the course isn’t super long and actually set up a little better for us from back there. Looking forward to coming back !
