About
Laurel Hill Golf Club has some of the best conditions of any public course in the area, which is why it is popular amongst the locals. It is hard to believe that the club sits where the DC Department of Corrections facility at Lorton used to be located. The layout has a traditional design, but unlike older golf courses it runs a lengthy 7,102 yards from the back tees. The greens are lightning fast and undulating. There is defined contouring throughout the course, which allows for some interesting holes. Although the fairways are wide open they are still punishing towards errant shots. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the golf course, making a flat lie nearly impossible to find. The course provides a formidable test for even the most seasoned players.

Great Course. Great Layout. Great Staff. Slow Play
Super course and layout. Very challenging and in great shape. I've played here twice and in both times play has been incredibly slow. Starters need to do a better job of moving slower playing groups along.
Good course, watch out for slow groups
When daylight is fading at 620 on a fall afternoon watch out for scumbags who take 20m per hole. Otherwise, a sublime experience

Laurel Hill
The staff were friendly, organized and efficient at check in. The course layout was very good with multiple tees giving very different looks on several holes. The course was in excellent condition. I will definitely play again. Highly recommend.
Great facility and course condition
Given the other options around the NoVa area this course is the only one that consistently checks all the boxes. Greens always are in great shape, well maintained fairways, practice facilities have grass and mats, chipping area well supplied with balls, and friendly staff (mostly volunteers). Other courses seem to check a couple boxes - Laurel Hills does it right and for a price that doesn't kill you. Just an overall great place to play golf.
Great shape
Play twice a week in DC area and this course is by far in the best shape from the ones I’ve played. Add to that the fact that they are one of the cheaper greens fees and it’s a no brainer. Will be back again and again.
Great lay out!
This course was an excellent choice. The starter advised us of the recently aeration. The course was very challenging and enjoyable. Great lay out!! We will definitely be back. Left a few birdies out there. Mike the starter was outstanding.
Staff not friendly and rude I no golf is very busy now but that won’t last forever
Super course
Long and challenging. Great layout.
Unfortunately players apparently dont repair divots or ball marks although I can’t hold the course accountable for that.
Tough to get tee times and I can see why. Must play again.
