Always the greens were terrific. Fairways vg and tee boxes fair. Layout is challenging but ver fair. A great value.

Speed up play. Had 2-3 groups waiting at first 4 tee boxes before it got down to just one other group waiting . But then on the 10th there was a four group pile up because the two slower groups let one group ahead. Over 5 hours for a round is not good

Coming back to play Chesdin at the start of spring and it was a little disappointing to say the least. Range was “closed” but looked fairly dry. Not sure why they don’t implement mats as not having a warmup before a round really made things difficult for alot of folks including me.

Pace of play was a little slower than normal as the weather is starting to warm up a bit and a lot more people are starting to get back out. They did not have a Marshall out.

Also didn’t know the greens had been aerated which definitely had an effect on most putts. Not interested in coming back until the summer time when course conditions improve and the crowd dies down a bit.

Bunkers are more of a hard red sand (at least this time of year late Feb through March). Fairways aren’t bad - I’m sure in peak season they look a bit more green. Overall fun course. Staff is a mixed bag like anywhere, but pro shop staff have always been perfectly pleasant.

First round of 2024 with 3 of my best friends. T off at 10:28 w/no frost, just typical dew conditions.

Fun day, scheduled rain never came in the afternoon.

Met Tim White, course Pro/Superintendent visiting players on arrival. Offered insight as to current course conditions and other helpful hints (cheeseburger at the turn). Lindsey, our designated ABC representative, provided "fluids" and course tips.

We'll be back in Southern Chesterfield in the Spring for another great day of fun.

Great intermediate golfing course to play on recommend to everyone!

Been out to chesdin several time now, and my favorite part of the course is how spaced out the tee times are usually. Some courses around here over book and make pace of play a nightmare. This place we had time to not rush and enjoy our round and still finished within 4 hours. Highly recommended!

Always enjoyed this course. Expected excellent conditions, not so much. Need better clientele, so many obvious ball marks not repaired. I repaired at least 5 per green. Bunkers need lots of work. Greens were ok but only 75 % healed. Rough was a lot of dirt. Fairways were pretty good. Leaves were so rampant that finding balls were very difficult. A few times I found others but not mine. Time of year is tough for this. Couldn’t solicit bar this time, usually good. Friendly pro. I hope this is not the downhill slide of this course. It is a very nice design but has seen better days. So isolated makes it tougher play.

Beautiful day playing Lake Chesdin for the 2nd time. The course is in fantastic shape and challenging. It’s a very welcoming golf club with friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend.
