Black Mountain Golf & Country Club is conveniently less than a half hour from the Las Vegas Strip, but you would think it was much further thanks to the stunning backdrop provided by the Mojave Desert. Set amid majestic mountains and beautiful desert vegetation, the golf course offers one of the most unique experiences in the Las Vegas Valley. The 18-hole golf course is comprised of two distinct nines: Founders, the original nine built in 1957 and Horizon, which opened in 1963. The course opens with its own version of Amen Corner, a challenging trio of holes that will test even the most skilled golfers. Black Mountain Golf & Country Club's back nine is more open than the front and also has more birdie opportunities. There are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides on both nines and water hazards also come into play.

This is NOT a country club!!!
This was a $60 round that we did NOT even get to finish!
The golf course did NOT inform Golf Now that they had a gold tournament. We got scheduled right into the mix.
They let us out a about 20 minutes early to our tee time. This helped us make up some holes before the tournament started. Right in the middle of the 5th hole, they pulled us off the course so they could start the shot gun tournament.
We moved and started on the Founders 9 holes. We finished those 9 holes to come back and start again where we got kicked off. Because of the tournament we had to wait to Sinish the first 9 we got kicked off. so we waited, waited and waited. Got feed up and left without finishing our round. There was another two some who also experienced the same problem and left too without finishing.
Report on the course: This course is at best an average municipal golf course. Green fees should be $26 to maybe $30 with golf cart. The course was in ok shape, but NOT for $60! This was a joke....
Do NOT come here for that price, you will be disappointed and have wasted your hard earned money on a terrible golf course.
the course is close to my home .
Played in the AM and it was very enjoyable. The staff was very nice and professional. Will play this course again.
OK Course for the intermediate Golfer
The course was not in the best of shape. The greens were like putting on berber carpet, (FAST), due to aeration and over-seeding. These facts were not conveyed when reservations were made. As a result, carts were banned to the cart paths, and slowed down play tremendously!
Had a fun round. Very good if you don't want to spend more or drive further.
So I got pretty lucky playing as a single and appreciate the starter letting me go off alone on a seemingly busy morning. (Lots of places would not have done so.) He and the guy in the pro shop were professional and friendly.
Round was fun a 5 some of members (yuck!) let me play through them after the first hole yet didn't allow any other golfers to play through so I was able to double back and play holes twice instead of waiting around a lot and therefore the round was a blast.
You can find better courses if you spend 2-3x as much in here Vegas but the options at this price point are extremely limited. What I paid stretched my budget since I try and play daily but it was the only place that didn't have the dishonest and unethical resident only tee times for when I wanted to play. So given that the greens, tees, rough, and fairways were all maintained with plenty of water I was satisfied and will gladly return.
Vegas golf is overrated and a rip off in general if you want to cram in as many rounds as you can and play a lot when you are here so and I can't wait to go down to Arizona next week where money goes further. GN should try make a stand against unethical resident only tee times. This is a good course though so either pay more or drive an extra hour into the middle of nowhere if you want better.
If you haven't played this course, you should give it a try.
My wife and I enjoyed playing this course. For a Sunday, pace of play was excellent, under 4 hrs. The greens were in good shape and rolled true.
Had a great time.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the other players were not unhappy to see an out of town hacker, quite the opposite actually they were very friendly. Back nine challenging in that all the greens it seems are guarded by bunkers, but overall a good experience for first time golfing in Las Vegas.
Cow pasture golf
Fairways were rough and not well maintained. Greens not in good shape. Was not a good value even at the Golf Now price
Good features
Excellent view of the mountains and of the Vegas Valley. Very little noise from traffic except for one hole.
Black Mountain Golf & country Club
Course is in fairly good condition. Some greens were in need of repair or reseed in areas. Recent storm had knocked down several trees which were still laying on the sides of the fairways or near the greens.
Soft , smooth fast greens
Well maintained course, fairways and greens
in very good condition. Staff accomodating and receptive.
excellent value for early morning time
its a must play
Friendliest staff I have ran into here in las vegas. Course is in great playing condition, fairways are nicely cut, the rough is just the right hieght and the greens roll pretty true.
A pleasant Saturday in Vegas
The course was in better condition than when I played it years ago. The greens were nice and lies in the fairways were generally good. It doesn't have the bite one finds on the desert courses in the area. It was a pleasant day.
V.good, just put it on anything green, if not you may leaf marks on your clubs, because the rest is gravel.
You need to be straight, and not afaid to hit wide
Great Course
Beautiful course, good weather, friendly staff at just over a dollar a hole. Great value.
for the price the coure was great
had a great time and i would play the course again
Enjoyed playing the course and would play again
The course played well. The Desert course was closed. the rough was thick so you had better stay on the fairway.
Well-maintained golf course
I was surprise that the course was well maintained even at the temperature of 95+ degree. I didn't see any unpleasant (bare) spots on the fairways or the greens, Fortunately, I was playing on Monday morning and the course was relatively open. I was able to finish the round under three and half hours. The course is simple, flat and fun-playing. It would be an enjoyable course for the beginners and a good tune-up course for the seasoned players.
This course has nice greens.
This course has nice greens, the rest of the course needs attention. For $25 or less its not a bad deal.
Pretty nice course for the twilight price.
We have played Black Mountain a few times and we will play it a few times each year while the summer prices are very low. Its a decent course and gets better when you know it a bit better. There are some hidden hazards that you will easily find when you look for your ball but just remember where and when they are. Overall pretty good
Great value
Difficult course, great value for the money, was in good condition.
