About
Texas' oldest existing 18-hole track was originally built in 1908 to serve members of Houston Country Club. When the club found a new location in the 1950s, Gus Wortham bought the facility and opened it to the public with $60 annual dues. The city of Houston took over in 1973, and it's been one of the busiest courses in the state ever since.
The unique design features a trio of par 5s on holes 2-4, a rarity in golf. One of the better birdie opportunities is the 293-yard No. 9. On the back, one of Texas' signature par 3s awaits in the 250-yard No. 16.
Getting there : From I-45, take the Wakeside Blvd. Exit and travel 1 mile north to Capitol St.

Great day at Gus!
Everything was great! The starter had a little attitude but I’m sure he has to deal with a lot of crap

Great, well maintained course. Fairways in great shape and the greens were sneaky fast. All around great experience. I highly recommend this course to anyone visiting the Houston area.
Excellent experience
I take a group of 12-16 players to play various courses in Houston weekly and it was our 1st experience at Gus Wortham and one of the best in the last 3 years of any course. The course is in great shape and the greens probably the best in Houston now. Best value for money. Mark Rossi is amazing and all the arrangements were done professionally and flawlessly - we will be back soon. Gert
Enjoyed
Enjoyed my round at Gus Wortham, can’t wait to play it again. I did not play as well as I would have liked, but having a little more knowledge of it now will help. Once again I enjoyed it and can’t wait to play again.
