Aldwark Manor Estate Golf

A great afternoon was spent playing the new layout at Aldwark Manor. The course is a nice balance of straight forward, challenging and a couple of utterly terrifying holes. The sun was shining and the course was in good condition. Some of the new holes will benefit from a winter to really establish themselves but the grounds team are doing a good job.

Lots of wide faiirways .. .. plenty of trees .. greens were in great condition .. couple of bring holes that could do with some added challenges but some great holes too

The course has been updated to change from 14 holes to 18. Garmin hasn't been updated yet. So bring your range finder.

Every hole is different and you need to use your brain. Definitely going back

Played for second time after new layout of course and it is excellent and well thought out especially the drive over the river which I always thought should have been done before and the new 15th over the lake . Only issue was a very slow 4ball in front with a lady who had never played before. However we remained patient and enjoyed all the free balls they left us and when we got back to the clubhouse they bought us a round of drinks

Just avoid. Even if it was in good nik a b poor layout with numerous silly holes . 18th is spectacularly bad

Amazing value. Beautiful location and course. Greens run true.

Some tricky holes and makes you think about your game

Catering was amazing and the course met our expectations.

However booked and corresponded with a chap called Jamie who was really friendly and helpful.

On the day however in the pro shop a young man called James was in charge who has a real attitude!!

Rude, arrogant and patronising and is really in the wrong job!

Dont know who he thinks he is but not what Aldwark Manor needs as a front of house/customer facing representative.

The only negative of the day so well done to everyone else!

Great course, very scenic and some interesting hills.

Greens were overall good, look a bit rough round edges but ran true.

I played on Saturday, had to leave after hole 11 as the pace of play was ridiculously slow, at one point there were 3 groups waiting to tee off. Couldn't get going at all, really disappointed as it's not a cheap round of golf. Won't be returning.

Course was very forgiving and the fairways were kept excellently. Will be back here to play again

First time playing since the new course layout has opened. £45 for guest round. Far too expensive given there were 3 temporary greens in play (on 1st June) and the greens that were in play were in poor condition. It is a lovely place, but course not up to standard yet. £25 would have been a fair price. It’s a shame they have got rid of the old 18th Hole and replaced it with a boring 17th. However that said there are a few very nice new holes.

Set in a beautiful location and an amazing estate the course is very picturesque running by the river Ouse.

However, when we visited they had recently cut the rough and left the grass cuttings (guess for a week or more) meaning it was brown and clumpy which meant we were losing balls on regular basis even having hit good shots.

Also there were two temporary greens which we were not aware of until we arrived at the course and these hadn't even been cut so we're impossible to putt on even by temporary green standards. It's such a shame as I think this could be one of the most lovely courses around those touches took the edge off.
