Decent course, strange layout at times, but we’ll be back

The course is a good length, although in damp conditions it plays very long. At times it’s an odd layout with greens and tees in each other’s way, and there was some standing water around some of the greens.

The bar staff were friendly enough, although the pro didn’t seem the most welcoming.

Stunning

Course is lovely, in fabulous condition, and amazing views over the wear.

Matts off the fairway and most tees spoilt the round a touch but can’t complain too much for the time of year. All the staff and members were super friendly and helpful

Not what was promised

Prior to play I checked that all greens were in play and was assured that they were - they were not - several holes had temporary greens.

This is understandable given the weather that we have had, but why lie about it.

Course was in fair condition which is a credit to greenkeepers.

Pace of play marked down as I got stuck behind an elderly ‘gentlemen’s’ 3 ball which refused to let me play through. Upon consulting some members after the round, it would seem that one of this group is well known for never letting anyone play through.

Bishop Auckland course review

First time playing here, good course and a fair test of golf, fairways and greens in good condition for the time of year. Would recommend this course. Can't comment on amenities as did not use.

Arrived late!

After turning up late, (only 24hours) because I incorrectly booked the wrong day on Golf Now the Pro Shop couldn’t have been more helpful! He honoured the tickets and found us a slot and got us out on the course, and what a course! It’ was a pleasure to play! I couldn’t fault the condition or the layout. Thanks BAGC

Course was in tip top shape. Fairways and greens were an absolute pleasure to play on. Course was very difficult which is what it is all about.
