Blackpool Park Golf Club - Stanley Park Course

course in great condition for a municipal. Not played it for over 30 years and forgotten how good it is. Also forgot the layout and struggled to find the 3rd hole which you have to cross a road to get to. Some signs would be helpful... But really enjoyed it and was great value

a great course with a great lay out & cracking scenery this course is a very long hard trek & not for the infirm but a truly cracking challenge for good golfers

For £15 this is a really good course. Very friendly feel about the place. The course is in very good condition for a municipal aswell. Possibly a bit busy but that was due to the sunshine being out but overall good course.

I've played Stanley Park numerous times fantastic layout and staff always friendly. This time around greeted by a lovely lady at reception and got ready for our round. The course I have to say is the worst I've ever seen it tee boxes are tired and the greens are the longest and in the worst condition I've ever seen. It seems a shame as it feels they're letting standards drop due to the course potentially closing.

Got to the club house and was told that half the course is too wet. I was offered to play the front part twice, which I tried. The ground was waterlogged, and the play was really slow (probably because of the other side being closed). I have played this course over 10 times and it is usually great. I think the problem is that half the course is getting sold off to make way for some adrenaline world, which loses its heritage of being a good course. I was told a while ago that a lot of the members were voting Tory in the last election, as they (tories) will stop it from closing. Let’s be honest, the members deserve to lose it for voting Tory. Never trust a Tory and don’t be ignoramus.

I am a relatively new player to golf. I have only played around 15 full rounds of golf and use an app for an unofficial HC (22) which I honour. I have played here previously on a number of occasions, with fiends, and like today on my own. Today was espically memorable as a nice chap was sitting on the veranda of the 18th hole, I hit a good shot and as I approached we started chatting and he gave me lots of good advice which as a new player felt really settling and welcoming. After my round I had a pint In the clubhouse with a warm welcome and friendly staff. Today has made me want to join the GC next season hoping all’s well to do so. Thanks mr stone . Craig .

Firstly in mitigation I need to point out that as we were slightly late for our tee time we went straight out without collecting our scorecards.

Now then, on leaving the 14th green we were accosted by a male about 60 all in black with a southern accent whose initial comment was get off the effing course. Whilst I was attempting to show him my reservation with golfnow he was throwing a diatribe at my friend in a completely threatening and hostile manner.

Eventually he had to admit he was wrong and as he trundled away he called back to my friend and said, qoute"im gonna have you!"

UNBELIEVABLE!!

This guy should under no circumstances be involved with the public. We will never play there again, and we will encourage others to follow us upto Staining golf course where a pleasant atmosphere is always guaranteed.

Booked course for the 1st time and was pleasantly surprised. Thoroughly enjoyed the golf and the weather was good.

Second time of playing this course and I loved every minute of it. Lovely wide fairways and the course was in great condition for a municipal can’t wait to play again.

Good test of golf Dr Mckenzie course, pity it my soon become a 9 holer

I have played Stanley Park for over 30 years on and off, being a junior member to a full member and it was the course was in the best condition I have ever seen it, it was a joy to play.
