Pleasant course with friendly staff

Our first time to this course, and safe to say I will definitely be back.

We received a very warm welcome from the Australian pro in the shop(apologies I cannot remember his name).

The course was in excellent nick, the only slight criticism is that it wasn't easy to find our way to each hole.

Pace of play (3 hours 15 mins) for a 2 ball, behind a couple of 3 balls was really good

Will definitely be back

Nice early morning round.

I had a tee time booked for 0812 and arrived at 0810, due to going around the roundabout 3 times due to my sat nav having a moment. I got my bag ready and headed down to the pro shop I was greeted by the pro and i explained I had booked a tee time, he directed me towards the first tee box and explained a few other details about the course.

I found the course to be in really good condition, it was very pleasing on the eye and was lush and green. During my round i noticed the green keeping team were busy at work and this showed , aith the presentation of the course. I thought it may be wet in places with the rain we have been having but it seemed to drain quite well. The fairways are large and inviting for you to take driver off the tee on most holes and the par 3's will be a good test of golf for any handicapper.

The only criticism of the course as a whole would be to add more sand to the bunkers I managed to get myself in two bunkers during my round and after I had played both shots I noticed that the lining of the bunker was showing through, however the sand that was in there was of a good consistency and from the two traps I went in they seemed to be consistent. The greens were really good and rolled true, not lightning fast but fast enough to be confident to pick a line and have a positive stroke towards the hole.

All in all a nice round of golf on a lovely looking course in decent condition. Would recommend.

Pre match familiarisation

We (Cumbria) played the course prior to our match against Durham. The course was in great condition despite some earlier rain. It’s a challenging course with some really interesting and testing holes. I would definitely come back and play it again.

This course is well worth a visit

Thoroughly enjoyed a late afternoons round in lovely surroundings .Course was in great condition although fairways were a little challenging due to the amount or rain we have had recently . had a well deserved beverage in the clubhouse afterwards and was very impressed by the facilities and the friendliness of the staff .

Fantastic flowing course

Played the course after a bit of rain, course was in great condition and work was ongoing to improve other areas. Course flowed well and good gaps between groups so that you didn't feel rushed. Can't wait to play again.
