First ng
Yes played before but last time wasn’t as good or fast you’ve done a lot of work on the grounds and it’s excellent now I will come again and play some more thank you
Great condition for time of year
Congratulations to the greenkeeping team for presenting the course in great condition considering the recent weather and snow. Pleasantly surprised to be on the normal greens, not winter temporary ones. Some winter mats for some tees which were in good condition. Obviously a club that takes pride in how it’s set up. Will be back again for sure. Friendly staff and welcoming clubhouse.
Distinctly Average
It feels harsh but unfortunately this course I’ve found was distinctly average in terms of playing enjoyment. Unfortunately the whole layout is fairly uninspired and the conditions were ok, greens good. Not really difficult fairly easy round, ideal for beginners.
18th hole only one really of note.
Angina Hill
18th a killer but fun.
Lovely course some nice
Pleasant staff in Pro shop and bar.
Will play again
Ok course.
Course has a municipal feel to it. Some ok holes but nothing too exciting. Tee boxes needed a trim but otherwise course was in reasonable condition. Unfortunately it was one of the slowest rounds I’ve ever played and the last two holes feel like they are 60 degrees uphill.
Great golf course
This is a picturesque golf course and we thoroughly enjoyed our round.
Whilst hilly and demanding it is probably one of the most beautiful settings in the dales.
Well worth a visit.
Spring Golf
Course has a few interesting holes- the last two might be the pick of them. Otherwise it’s not terribly long, and from the winter mats for tees, was playing quite short- quite a few par 4s with a wedge second shot (and we are not long hitters)
Course rather/very wet and soft in places but it has been a terribly wet winter. I wouldn’t rush back (an hour from home for both us) but I would play again if in the area for some reason.
Were let through after a couple of holes, and otherwise we almost played to our own pace. Bar and shop staff friendly. Drinks reasonably priced.
Well kept
This is currently my favourite course locally. There are some lovely par 3s. The course isn’t particularly complex but does have challenging greens. It has mature trees and wildlife and is just a pleasure to play. Ample parking and practice net, green and pitching area with bunker. The pro shop has some nice tackle and staff are friendly.
Nice course
Nice course. Friendly staff. Was held up by a womens society or comp but it can’t be helped. Very short front 9 quite a few short par 4s but well layed out. Greens a bit patchy and bitty but fast. Great views would play again for sure.
Very good course with amazing views
Our first time here and we were made very welcome.
The course is a little difficult to follow in parts so we kept an eye on the party in front. A seperate little card map would help first-timers.
Several challenging holes and only a couple of long ones. Spectacular scenery is visible all the way round the course.
The walk uphill from the 17th green to the 18th tee is brutal and people struggling with walking or energy will find this challenging. The reward for your efforts is a very steep hill all the way up to the 18th green.
A pint of well kept Wainwright's ale from the bar was a worthy reward for the effort. Sitting outside the clubhouse enjoying refreshments offers a panoramic view of the beautful surrounding countryside.
Final word is for the groundstaff. The fairways and greens were in superb condition. The best we've played on this summer. Well done!
Great day out
Fantastic place all round! Beautiful course with every sort of challenge you would want from 18 holes, amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Very friendly, welcoming staff and great club shop with everything you could need.
Great round
Excellent service, friendly and attentive . Course in good condition and forgiving.
Amazing course with views unsurpassed
An amazing course with the most dramatic views of Bolton abbey and the Warfe valley - I’ve not seen better scenery from any course I’ve played. With a challenging well maintained short course and very friendly welcoming staff in the pro shop and bar it’s hard to imagine a better round if golf.!
