Mr trolley
Great course layout was my best the staff very friendly as well the guy in the shop opened the bar after we finished so we could get a refreshing drink. Will be visiting very soon .
Keighley GC
Course Layout was Old School, a few tees and greens close by. Course conditions were excellent considering the dry weather of late fairway short/well defined, greens were quality and overall the course is very well maintained.
The staff were helpful, engaging and attentive.
Will definitely return after an overall splendid day out on a hidden gem of a course.
Friendly, enjoyable for a beginner
Great staff, polite and helpful members. Course is good for a beginner like myself
A little Yorkshire gem
Our last destination on our short three day golf tour.
I feel I must start with a comment about access to the course. The route to the club takes you down a very narrow and bumpy road (Keelham Lane) and then over two bridges, one over the A629 and then another narrow one over the River Aire. I can't imagine how they get stone, sand and fertiliser etc delivered in.
Anyway onto the golf club, on the day we visited the pro shop was closed, apparently they are currently looking for a new pro. We were assisted by a helpful bar steward in providing scorecards drinks and excellent flap jacks for mid round sustenance.
The course is well presented, tee boxes, fairways and greens in good condition. A couple of holes the eleventh and thirteenth certainly get the blood flowing.
After the round we sampled the food and drinks available in the clubhouse, extremely good!
Overall, a splendid day out.
Feedback
Shop was closed, so dissapointing to not be able be welcomed, get drinks/snacks etc
The greens were really poor, looked diseased, which was a shame.
Ultimately we had a good time, nice bit of notalga have not played it for 4/5 years.
Potentially a great track, but with limited rain of which is out of your control, and the condition of green have to feedback as a reflection of what we experienced on the day.
Great test
Great course in good condition considering very little rain at moment
OK
Played Bank Holiday Monday. Friend booked the tee time for 2 players and I joined with them so wanted to pay in the pro shop to add onto the current. Done this at other courses no problem. Asked to do this and was told it would be £35 although it was £25 on the app. No blame attached to the girl in the shop as she didn't know how or if she could change it and no one was around to ask. In the end I booked the next tee time via the app for £25.
Little things seemed different to the many times we've played before. Not much stock in the shop, couldn't get into the locker room without asking a member passing by to let us in, unable to get a drink or food and the course didn't seem as well kept as we usually notice. Really like the course but a few areas looked a bit untidy/could have been GUR but the flow of the course is overall great.
We'll be back but it wasn't as good as we normally play.
Dated clubhouse
2nd hole was out of bounds , fairway on this hole has been poor for a number of years now, cant understand why it has been drained properly . Enjoyed rest of the course.
Clubhouse needs a revamp very dated and professional shop not open at 10 30 am .
Nice course a bit pricey
Nice course, well kept with a nice club house. Felt it is a touch pricey for a late Sunday afternoon round. Wouldn’t play again for the price vs other local courses.
Wet and windy!
I only managed the first 9 holes of this course due to the weather but would go back to complete the full 18.
Parts of the course were obviously wet given the amount of rain recently. Greens were in good condition and played fair. The number of leaves around proved tricky when trying to find my ball, even on some fairways.
As another review stated, the position of the dual carriageway doesn’t make this a particularly tranquil setting like some other courses nearby.
Very nice course - Shame about road noise
This is a lovely well-maintained course and the Covid-19 measures made no difference to my enjoyment of the round.
My only reasons for scoring just 3 stars for course layout and value for money is due to a) its location next to the A629 and the associated traffic noise this results in and b) the fact that at £35 a round it isn't as good value for money as other courses in the area I have played.
For me, a tranquil, peaceful setting is very important to my enjoyment of the round. If that is not an issue to you then the course layout and it's condition were near on perfect. I still enjoyed my game despite the traffic noise.
