Interesting course
Really enjoyed the course, some interesting holes , definitely will play again
Very helpful
Course in good order with some very challenging holes definitely playing again.
Great course
Lovely maintained course, would highly recommend. The greens were in great condition
A beautiful challenge.
If you fancy a challenge this is the course for you. Pop in the pro shop and check in for some friendly tips from the staff. Grab a scorecard you might need to use the map.
Take advantage of the front 9 as is possesses lots of par opportunities, fills you with confidence, makes you smile, laugh, maybe even cry. Some golfers could be on as many as 20 stableford points after 9 holes. Followed by a nice par 3 at 10. But do not get distracted the easy bit is done.
At 11 the journey to the hills begin with a tricky 420 yard par 4, aim for a boogey on this one then have a drink, calibrate yourself and wish your playing partners good luck. Now you will head uphill for holes 12-16, described by Lancashire Golf magazine as one of the hardest runs of holes in world golf.
If you made it to 17 and your still alive/have any balls left first of all congratulations, enjoy the par 3 which is a nice confidence boost after what you've just been through. A good drive on 18 presents a downhill fairway with a potential 250+ drive looming and a good look at the green in 2.
Get yourself a nice pint in the clubhouse. Assess the round I guarantee you will be back! All in all a fabulous course the greenskeepers do an amazing job, nice food, welcoming members, nice views and a great day out.
100% reccomend
Lovely course
Great course, in good condition, greens were good. Pace of play was perfect no one infront and no one rushing us from behind
Would reccomend to anyone and beginners as theres not much pressure when no ones right up behind you :)
Excellent value for money golf course
Great fairways and greens. Challenging course kept in great condition. Highly recommend.
Lovely course.few challenging par 5s .can enjoy a driink outside watching people playing the 18th hole and teaing off on the first too
Nice course
Tough course played very long due to wind and soft ground but very enjoyable
Nice course with imperfections
Course of two halves, first 9 are a really good set up then when you get to 11 the fun begins, if its wet the back 9 gets really boggy and the drainage is poor i spent too much of the round looking for balls that were covered in mud and lost 3 that barley missed the fairway and these holes are very tough long and hilly. On the plus side I will play this course again in better weather, I would recommend anyone to give this course a try,The staff are friendly and helpful (p.s. don't complain if there are a few holes closed I'd rather play the front 9 twice than struggle with the mud)
Not a bad round
Decent variety of holes. Nice lay out. First 9 are scabby and need improvement
Half a round @ Breightmet Golf Course
I choose this course because of the excellent reviews and it's relatively close to my home address.
Being a beginner I only booked half a round as this was the first time playing on this course and I wanted to get the feel of the place in regards to their attitude towards new faces and beginner golfers.
Well I was not dissappointed, the staff were friendly and made you feel welcomed as did some of the members I spoke to during my round.
The 9 holes I played were well layed out and the greens i would give them 5 out of 5.
Would I come back...Yes, would I recommend this course to friends, also yes.
Woolly fairways, but overall very playable for the time of year
Played as a 3 ball, the pace of play was good, no waiting. Some great holes, some not so ie 12, 13 & 14 were just long and uninteresting but that said we really enjoyed it. You must call in the clubhouse for a beer or 2!
Only 13 holes playable
Good course, played here many times, unfortunately today there was only 13 holes playable due to vandalism by local scooters on track bikes. Great shame because it’s a great club, friendly members and staff.
First tea off of season
Booked through tea off times price was really cheap (£23for 2 players) but found out fullcourse wasnt open due to storm damage. Played 9 holes then done same holes twice.course will be beautiful as always is when weather better though
