Golf heaven

I've played most of the surrounding clubs but this is the best. Beautiful landscape excellent greens large fairways, challenging but hard to lose a ball. Love playing while using a buggy

Excellent course

Excellent golf course, only criticism was that some of the greens were slightly uneven giving rise to unexpected ball movements, but as usual the course was a pleasure to play on

Unusual course hampered by wet conditions and prior communication

The course is interesting, quite up and down in places and I can see the appeal of the design. The shorter holes are very nice to play. A couple of the tee shots require a course planner to know where you're going and how much fairway you'll have, though.

The downside was although the weather had been recently dry, the course was still very wet in places. They had instigated a use of mats anywhere on the course, but this was not communicated to us before we arrived. The mats were not good to hit off and to be honest, the fairways were dry enough. We were also meant to use them in the rough and anywhere you were on the course, which was a problem as the pro only had one mat to lend us (we could buy one if we'd have wanted...) We spent much of the round being asked by members if we knew of the mat rule, and to make sure we used them. This was a little bit over the top, and didn't lend itself to a relaxing round.

We were also expected to carry a large rake around with us to rake the bunkers. Never experienced this before. Bizarre!

A very 'members' club. Friendly pro and staff, but just felt a little on edge playing there due to the slight over protectiveness of the course. Members obviously care a lot about their track, though.

Bury GC a course worth playing

From reading the reviews online about bury GC it sound,d a pretty daunting course, but nothing could be further from the truth, a fantastic course and in great condition, not long but quiet insulating fairways and greens with quiet severe drop off,s made this a course that made you think about your course management, also there are some quiet deep bunkers too, fortunately we managed to avoid those off course facilities very good and a very well stock,d pro shop and a very helpful pro, overall a great day golfing, would highly recommend and will be visiting again and again.

Forgot how good this is

Not played here since last year but what a cracking course. In great condition for mid October apart from two temporary greens due to new drainage being put in.

Amazing weather as well!

A Pleasant Day Out

The fairways and greens are in very good condition. The rough in certain areas could have been done with being cut back more, lost 3 balls. If I didn't have a garmin watch I would have struggled with distances with only the 150 being marked with stakes at the side. Spoilt with my club (Breightmet) where they are staked at 1oo, 150 and 200. But still very enjoyed the round.
