Walmersley Golf Club

Played for the first time today.

What an amazing course. Fairways and greens where in great condition, considering it's not stopped raining for about a week.

Staff where extremely friendly, and chatted with us in the bar after our round. The club house and bar were in immaculate condition.

There are plenty of practice facilities to warm yourself up before a round.

Really loved the course. Nice assortment of challenge holes, with amazing scenery all the way around.

The most welcoming course I've played all year.

Great course with a really great layout,13 to 17 some of my favourite holes. Was first out so no problem with pace of play, greens were in good condition as was the rest of the course and would recommend it to anyone.

The course us well maintained. The staff and even the players are all veey friendly.

can I just say the one star for pace of play was because it took me 25 min to get to the 3rd tee behind the slowest fourball Ive ever followed, skip to 5th and came back later to do 3 and 4. The course is in excellent condition with some really quirky hole love 13 to 16 sections, and heard the greens weren't in good shape but thought they ran smooth and true. Although clubhouse is under referb staff were excellent and showed me were the longer walks to tees where so thank you but was well signposted anyway. A must play I will definitely be back very shortly think I've found my NEW FAVOIURITE COURSE.

Good all round golf course a bit of a walk to some tee beds. Greens a bit fluffy but no complaints

Lovely course, with a good selection of holes. Friendly staff in the clubhouse which is undergoing renovations.

Whilst the course was itself in great condition and the views fabulous, the greens were very disappointing. The balls would not roll true due to the greens being so bobbly. Many interesting holes, and I would benefit second time around, with improved knowledge of the layout of certain holes.

The course was in good condition despite the recent heavy rains. Greens had been treated and it was tricky to gauge pace but the overall condition was good and they'll improve. There are a few tricky dog legs where it is difficult to judge what club to take as a first time player of the course, you can quickly run out of fairway. Course is hilly so a bit of a physical challenge for the older player but still enjoyable.

Staff and players were very friendly, we had a really warm welcome. We had a lovely roast beef sandwich after the round.

There's a lot of work going on to improve the clubhouse and facilities, it'll be great when it's finished. Will definitely go back 👍

I’ve Walmersley a number of times and always enjoy the layout. They’ve got some really great holes with some awesome views over Manchester, undulating fairways, elevations that challenge strategy as well as the skill. Some of the greens were very sandy though, I assume as it’s only spring. I gave staff a 3 star because it was late, and I was pretty much the only person on the course so couldn’t find anyone to check in. They’re also having some renovation work done so the pro shop is currently closed.

But all in all I always enjoy playing this course so would definitely recommend it.

Course was in very good condition for the time of year, problem started when we arrived and was told that 3 holes were closed. We played and enjoyed the course, very good condition considering the weather over the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately the clubhouse was having extensive refurbishment carried out so refreshments were in short supply with no electricity for the coffee facilities. No mention of any course closures or clubhouse refurbishment in any of the booking documents we received. Disappointed really.

Good course in very wet conditions, only managed to play 12 but no fault of the course , lay out was very nice and challenging despite it being a short course
