Most Improved Club
The changes in this golf club over the last two years is immeasurable. Visibly the greens ,aprons and fairways have benefited from the arrival of a new , enthusiastic and experienced head Greenkeepers . Not so obvious is the work on the drainage funded by a new general manager with a positive forward thinking attitude. For us that means a quality, challenging round of golf. There are great facilities too. Nets, practice areas and a great sports bar to talk about your birdie after your round. All at a very competitive rate.,
Nice round
This was a okay course nothing special but perfectly okay for a round. The course was in fair condition given the recent weather. Not too tricky but a few holes where you have to take care. The signage was a bit tricky in places but considering the price it’s well worth it. If you are thinking of playing it, think of the price and set your expectations accordingly. It’s fairly priced.
Course improvement
There has been a tremendous amount of work on the course both on things like drainage that you don’t see and on the greens and the aprons that have improved immeasurably. Add the that the friendliness of the members and staff makes this course rate above its standing. Must not forget the putting green, chipping green, nets, practice range and the well stocked pro shop. And after your game there is the sports lounge with sports tv, pool and darts plus the bar for rehydration.

Calderfield golf course
The course was in wonderful condition. The greens for this time of year were a little slow. Had a great day. Thank you very much
Poor Course
I played this course on 12.06.24. I was shocked at how bad this course had become. The cut grass was all over the fairways, the greens were appalling, the bunkers shocking. There was no pride in this course whatsoever, a real shame as it is a lovely setting.
Bunker problems
Haven't played here for a while, last time the rough was really bad, some greens were awful and the main problem was with the bunkers. Generally the course was in great condition today, greens, fairways and rough had actually been cut. Same as before some bunkers are unplayable, like playing off concrete. Not much sand in them, stones and weeds etc, just need to sort this out. Then would be a very nice course.
Poor Golf experience
On arrival, we were informed to expect a 5hr round as there was a medal comp in play.
They appeared to have crammed as many players as possible on the course and every shot involved a wait for players ahead to clear.
The fairways were uncut and in poor condition, the greens hollow tined and more rocks than sand in the alleged bunkers.
We will not play this course again and will not recommend it to friends.
Calderfields of Dreams
What a difference a change in weather can do course was spot on greens were brilliant some areas were boggy still but to be fair I would of been ok if I could hit on the fairway.
course
considering the weather we have had the course wasok
Lovely staff, poor course
We were met with very friendly staff upon arrival which was lovely to see. We were given a brief of the course and was told that there was work going on the 17th hole which was fine. As we made our way around the course, it was very evident that there was no distinction between the fairways and first cut. The cut of the course was poor. Several balls were lost due to thick fairway grass and the pace of play took us over 4 hours for a 2 player game. Nothing against the staff as they were very friendly however the conditions of the course was rather poor. We understand that there was a downpour of rain the night before which did make the course slightly worse however you can tell that the fairways haven’t been cut for a while.
I love playing this course !
Calderfields golf course is a solid golf course!
Only thing is it needs repairs and upgrades on drainage desperately!
Near every iron shot plugged in the ground , the ground was soaked.
I think it needed to be closed , if not just for most golfers being ankle deep in mud just so the course can recover!
Having saying this it would never stop me play there it is a great course!
First 18 of the year
Was a good course for winter the greens were really good some areas around the fairways were boggy but it is winter will definitely return and look forward to a summer 18 holes
Course average and slow play
Played here with a mate on a Saturday morning. Didn’t get off to the best start when we were interrogated by a couple of members whether we had a tee time booked. Believe it or not we don’t just turn up hoping to get a game and so yes we had a tee time booked. After the 4 ball of members in front of us had a few more moans and muttered a few more comments we finally teed off. After a few holes the marshall told us there were 2 x four balls in front of us and was hoping we could get called through. No chance the members were going to do that. It was that slow we actually missed the 8th , 9th and 10th holes out so we could get round. All in all an average course spoilt by childish entitled members. I won’t be returning in a hurry.
De cent course and still playable after last weeks rain. Nice addition to the buggies was the course planner on them
Slow play
We didn't get to finish our round. The club kept putting people in front of us. People got lost and we was held up. Due to this we lost light and didn't complete the course. Very disappointed
Slow pace of play
Very slow payed for 18 holes and only played 9 3 hours for 9 holes not great
Corse conditions were terrible the trees need some work I won’t be back
Poor greens
The greens had been hollow milled and NO SAND AND SEED had been laid so the greens were terrible just full of holes. Totally ruined the days golf oh forgot to say the course let out a single player who by the looks of things had never played golf before on a midday tee time so just caused a back log of groups
