Better courses near by for same price range, too much deep rough, if you go in the rough it's basically a lost ball. This slows the pace of the game down. bunkers have weeds growing out of them. Greens were bobbly. Tee boxes were terrible, alot of temp tees. This could be such a nice course if it was looked after and had a bit of tlc. The bar staff were very nice. All staff were friendly. Unfortunately I won't be returning unless there are improvements.
Excellent value
The course is not the best kept around but, for a public course, is more than acceptable. The holes are challenging enough and better that I expect from a public course. Overall, it is excellent value for money and will definitely play again.
Excellent value
The course is not as well kept as most private golf clubs but, for the cost, it is excellent value for money. There are some challenging and interesting holes, especially the longer par 4's. I will definitely play again.
Nice course; excellent value. Better in the summer. bit muddy
It's a nice course with lovely mature trees. Some interesting holes. Excellent hospitality and very good bar/restaurant. Like many courses, it's sometimes muddy in the winter months, and it's much more enjoyable in the summer. But for value for money, it's very good.
Nice course, not so nice players
The course itself was in good condition considering the amount of rain we've had. Unfortunately what happens quite often here, we were stuck behind a 4 ball who refused to let us play though (we were a 2 ball with a buggy) so it took almost 4 hours to get round.
It's a nice course with some nice holes, rough isn't too bad if you get in it. I'd play again, but maybe not an early tee time in case we get stuck again.
Value for money
The course was in really great condition. The only issue were most of the tee boxes were in a bad condition due to it not being allowed to dry out before people played of it
Beautiful course
Great well presented course, pace was slow and ques gathered at tees due to seniors play, pro shop is minimal but restaurant and patio is good
Good but not good
Would be a great course if only they would look after it.
Cracking layout, decent greens but tee boxes a disgrace, in some cases just a hole in the ground between the markers.
No real definition between fairway and semi rough.
Such a shame but would still return and recommend if you get a good price, I paid £25 which was slightly too much given the condition of the course. If they kept it nice I would gladly pay a fair bit more
Nice course
I play here when in town as there is a nice mix of playable holes and some challenging ones- course conditions are good and it is not too hilly so easy to walk. Always enjoy this course
Scenic course with some holes of character
Unusually it is best not to book online since it costs more than phoning up and booking in person - and the difference is not small. The course is a pleasant one with a rural feel and it was very quiet when we played so we were not help up or hassled. There are a couple of very long, straight holds and a couple of very tight holes requiring accuracy so it is nicely varied. The green fee is very reasonable for a course of this quality near London and we thoroughly enjoyed our round.
Shame about the Green keepers
Green keepers were very busy which is fine, but a little annoying when they didn’t move from the hole we were playing, and we had to wait.
Shocking condition
Played here for the first time today and was very disappointed. Tee boxes were in really poor condition and even used stone bricks as markers! Lots of bunkers not in play. Greens were so overgrown and couldn't tell when the fairway had been last cut. You actually couldn't tell where the fairway met the rough as it was all the same length pretty much. Shame because this course has potential.
