Donnington Grove Country Club

Due to a senior ladies match going on and us being told there was no chance we were allowed to pressure them or play through them our round for a 2 ball took 5 hours.

A complaint to the pro shop brought no joy, its as if they didn't care about us as we were visitors to the course.

I will NEVER play this course again !!!

Set in lovely grounds a very challenging and long course where bogeys are a good s ore for mid to high handicap players. Whilst wet in places in very good condition and huge greens also in good condition.

Friendly staff a members will definitely play again and definitely recommend playing

Great challenge even though it was wet and muddy under foot on the fairways the greens were perfect especially after the bad weather the week before.

The course is in a beautiful setting and has the potential to be a great golf course, however it is let down by its layout which is unfortunately spread either side of the a34. The transition from the 8th to 9th to 10th holes with long walks in between completely break the rhythm of the round. In addition, I hope it’s just because it was bank holiday Friday, but the pace of play was dreadful. It took 4 hours to get through 12 holes today, which is simply unacceptable and you lose rhythm as a result making the course less enjoyable than it should be.

This is a championships length course of high quality particularly for a commercial operation. The holes are varied and challenging with excellent greens for this time of year. It can get very heavy, significantly increasing the length, but dries quickly. There are several long walks from green to tee, this plus the many slopes and inclines means a buggy is essential for older, more physically challenged players

It is probably more suitable to lower handicappers capable of striking the ball a decent distance from the tee, but for anyone with a half decent game it is highly recommended.

The staff are friendly, welcoming and accommodating and there’s an excellent Half-Way House facility with a call-up on the 9th tee for pre-ordering of hot food, that is good value for money.

I’ll try it again in the summer, with a bit of run on the ball, giving me a chance of playing closer to my handicap.

2nd time at this course absolutely brilliant course can’t wait to play it in the dry weather . And it as the best shoe and trolley cleaner when you finish hide pipe and airline brilliant . Love this place

Cracking course but wet underfoot but to be expected after all rain . This course must be brilliant in the summer and greens are fantastic. Absolutely lovely golf course will definitely play again .

Course was in great condition and was a real test with lots of interesting holes. You also had some wonderful views which enhanced the experience.

Everybody at the club were very helpful and we had a good time.

I would recommend this course as one to play and myself and playing partners will be back soon.

Very tiring to walk. Buggy recommended.Long way between some holes!

Played here for the 1st time in 20 years, and was looking forward to a challenge. A big estate and be prepared for a walk especially if not using a buggy. Disappointed that the halfway house had closed early as could have done with a sausage roll for the challenge of the long par 5 10th.

A very long course off the white tee but the fairway was running fast and hard, which was well burnt after the long dry spell. Greens in good condition and challenging pin positions, (don't go past the flag on the 1st).

We normally go round our course in 3hrs 20min, took an extra 1hr due to the long walks between some holes.

Will play again soon.
