fair round
First round at Dunscar- not quite, but almost millionaire's golf, which is just as well, as it's quite compact and I would have been hoarse with the shouts of fore. It''s not a terribly long or difficult course (it wasn't windy on my visit) but there is some interest. The layout means it does feel a bit like going back and forth somewhat. Quite a few blind shots. But my only gripe really is that the greenkeepers seemed to repeatedly move from the green I was on to the next one. I had to wait for them quite a bit on a largely quiet course, and of course they had to wait for me to play my shot at times too.
It's not the best course in the area but nor is it the most expensive. Worth if it, like me, you enjoy the variety of playing different courses and get a decent green fee price.
Excellent for winter golf
Very clean course for winter golf. No mud whatsoever. Quite a few holes close and cross over so just keep an ear out for the fore’s. Overall great course and can’t wait to play it in the spring-summer
Thanks dunscar.
Dangerous
Far to many people on the course . From start to finish the cry’s of four was unbelievable. To many cross over holes .
Great days golf
Although the pro shop was closed the members we met made us very welcome and followed up on the course with guidance. A few temp greens but this was accepted given the time of year and the wet conditions. Played quite a few years ago and the course has been improved considerably including new paths making life easier. Greens and fairways in excellent nick. Thoroughly enjoyed our round and a nice beer afterwards
A great course with a good variety of holes. Some quite tough holes set amongst some great scenery. Some tight fairways with some very hazardous rough. Some great par 3’s, tough par 5’s and an overall really good round of golf. I will play there many more times.
Lovely course lovely atmosphere
Great course with friendly staff and a real good pace of play! In too condition too!
Class
Really impressed. Early tee time helped to beat the slow play but the course was in great condition. The weather was awful so the four of us would like to come back during summer.
Great condition
Played 12/09/21 and can recommend the course as it was in great condition. Greens are all in good condition and where consistent. Fairways were all trim and well maintained along with the tee boxes.
Loads of different holes - my personal favourite was a right angle par 5!
Not a flat course with plenty of undulating so anyone who struggles usually on hilly courses would probably want to consider an electric trolley but for me it just adds to the enjoyment.
We were able to get a pint afterwards but no pro in the pro shop on arrival but cards were available near the clubhouse.
Played here a few times and would say currently it's in the best condition.
Excellent course.
Well presented course with some tricky holes.
Would highly recommend this course.
Awful weather - but the course drained well - most of the greens excellent- a good but fair test and stunning views
