none starter

I booked up the day before as I imagine many do... Unfortunately I did not get a confirmation email to confirm the booking.. as a result i tried calling the course many times in the morning to no avail.

as a result I did not travel the hour long journey through fear of being a wasted journey.

I called the club today to try and rearrange the booking but got met with "we cant match prices of golf now so not our problem"

I understand I share the blame and accept I've lost £55 as a result but if it was me I'd go out of my way to help and show people that golf is a class above the rest...

Always a stunning setting

Course held up well from lots of rain - great welcome and greens were fantastic for a wet February- wish I could keep this course a secret !

Challenging links

Pretty short with only one par 5, but some extremely challenging holes. Positioning your tee shot is much more important than length here. Shame you don’t see much of the beautiful seaside but other castle views were awesome. We played in quite nice weather but still got the windy blasts on the back nine.

Greens were awesome for January and we only had to play off a couple of tee mats.

Pre round snacks were good staff friendly and pace of play pretty good. Even though we were being pushed by single players behind.

Overall I’d go back again and hope for a warm day!

Great course

In amazing condition for early January. Course is good and really ramps up on the 8th which is a fantastic hole. 8-13 are the best holes with the best views. £25 is excellent value, anything less is a steal. No winter greens and no mats required. The photos online don’t do the course justice, it’s way more interesting and varied than it appears.

Enjoyable experience

Played Dunstanburgh yesterday. Lovely sunny afternoon although quite breezy. Challenging course with some interesting greens and deep bunkers. Spectacular views. Was warned to take some old balls! Lost 2 but found 5 so can’t complain!

Beautiful

It’s tough into the wind as you might expect on a coastal location. Interesting layout with some tough holes. Fantastic location with the beautiful castle as a backdrop.

Great seaside course

Played it a few times, and will do so again when in the area. Always in top notch condition with smooth fast running greens. Great views of the Castle ruins and the Northumberland coastline. Although our round today ground to a halt on the back nine as we were a two ball I still gave 5* as this is not the clubs fault. P
